T for Tuesday - breakfast at the campsite

Good morning, happy Tuesday!

I hope you have all been well and that you are able to enjoy the summer holidays.

My DH and I have been away for a few days. We have a campervan (I think the Americans call it an RV) and we stayed at a campsite not far from our home (45 minutes drive). It was called Camping de la Bolera .

It was situated among the trees, so there was much shade. Very needed in this hot country.

Here I am sitting down to breakfast. My DH is British so we have tea for breakfast and cereal. The Spanish don't use tea pots like people do in the UK. They have herbal teas and (at least in our village) the herbs get collected and put directly in a large lidded kettle. Of course they also use tea bags bought in the shop. Do you use tea pots in USA? and in Oz? Also the Spanish have never seen a tea cosy, so I did get a few comments.
There was a lovely lake (reservoir), called La Bolera, a few minutes walk from the camp site, so of course we had to go and have a look.
Believe me the colour was really that turquoise! Beautiful!

The campsite had a swimming pool which I won't show you because if you've seen one, you've seen them all. There was a little restaurant with most tables outside.

They had rigged up a sun shade with that green stuff that people here use for all sorts of things. So handy. We have fashioned a cover for the campervan with it and we have a sheet hanging in front of the terrace doors at home.

That's it from me this Tuesday. Have a lovely day and a great week!

Greetings from Spain,
Lisca

  2. What a great place, what views! To our (husband and I) mind, the Brits make the best tea in the world, but then we are rather Anglophile...

  3. Hi Lisca, looks like you had a wonderful holiday in your camper. Talking of tea cosies - I had several knitted ones that I didn't use, as I don't drink much tea, so I took them to the charity shop. The lady who took the things, said 'The woolly hat has got holes in it!'. I had to laugh and explained what it really was! Happy T Day from Germany! Hugs, Valerie

  4. What a lovely place and lucky for you it is so close too.
Your camper set up looks very nice with your tea/breakfast table set up.
I have some tea pots and tea cozies because tepid tea is not so hot LOL.
Sadly there are places here in the US where when you order hot tea they bring a mug and a tea bag and a little pot of water. I am very selective where I have tea when we are out and about.
Shade sounds like a necessary thing in your beautiful surroundings! It felt like 37.777C here in Virginia yesterday with the heat and humidity together. I had to stay inside most of the day.
Wishing you a Happy Summer T Day oxo

  5. Your views are wonderful! So different from anything I see around here. I see from your "about me" section that you've retired to Spain. I've never been there, but it sounds like an exciting adventure! :)

  6. Since I don't drink a lot of tea, I've seen tea cozies in pictures, but never one in real life. Of course, I do know what they are used for, at least.

When it comes to tea, I much prefer loose leaf tea because it tastes so much better. However, I sometimes drink tea from tea bags so I can use the bags in my art. Whether bags or bulk, the leaves go in the compost pile in the end. Nothing ever gets wasted at my place.

I really enjoyed the photos of your campground and the surrounding area. It's always a treat to see a different part of the world. Speaking of hot, it's been hot here, too. Of course the humidity has been a big part of it.

Thanks for sharing your adventure, your tea cozy, and your surroundings with us for T this Tuesday.

  7. If you hadn't stated that your in Spain, these pictures of the campground could pass for some in California, not far from where we live. The big difference would be the color of the water in the reservoir .....here it is a mucky green, not a beautiful turquoise.

I'm a coffee drinker, but I do what a tea cozy is and have seen them.

The big home improvement stores carry the green shade ( and other colors) materials here, and we also make use of it for different things too. It gets so hot here in the summer that most people have it somewhere on their property.

Yes, we do call the camper vans an RV, or motorhome. We have a 5th wheel trailer, but I just call it my Playhouse.....LOL

Thanks for sharing your vacation pictures....happy T-day

  8. Looks like you had a great time on your vacation :) I used to camp a lot with my parents growing up and loved it. The Hubs isn't a fan of it so it's been a few years. Of course when he and I did it we used a tent and I think that's why he's not such a fan :) Love that lake Photo ♥♥♥

  9. Hi Lisca!! Happy Tday! How wonderful to see photos of your vacation... Here in the USA we do use tea pots... I for one though tend to heat my water in the microwave.. pull it out and pop a tea bag in and let it steep... Who has time to heat water on the stove??? Hugs! deb

  10. I have teapots but also just use a mug and boiling water (USA, Fargo, ND). Not that I drink tea that often as I am usually a coffee drinker, but I do have both loose tea (and various contraptions to corral them) and tea bags.

We went camping a lot when I was a kid, but it was in a big tent. RVs look like luxury to me. Happy T-Day! :)

  11. I saw your question about the bricks as I was on my way out the door today. I believe these are real bricks that are thinner than ones used in most building materials. That is definitely NOT veneer. I've seen the thinner bricks before, and they are usually used on the facade/front of houses and on fireplace fronts. Thanks for asking.
