WOYWW 325 Envelopes, plasterer and a flown birdie

Hello fellow desk hoppers,

Hope you are all in fine fettle and ready to do some snooping around each others desks.
I'm linking in with 'Whats on your workdesk Wednesday'. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, visit our chief desker Julia at Stamping ground.

My desk is quite empty:
I'm working on a lay out (seen on the right) and one of the embellishments was a little pink bird made of some foam type material. When I got to the point where I was going to glue it in place, I could not find it! I emptied my desk item by item carefully. Looked in the bin, lifted the carpet etc but the birdie has flown and I have not found it! So now I am left with a near empty and quite tidy desk.

This craft room is an improvised space in the new building, which is coming on nicely. Of course this craft room is nowhere near finished but as it is such a large and light space I am using it (even though it is not finished.)
The 'things' on the right are dining room chairs piled on top of each other as we had nowhere else to put them.

We hired a plasterer to do the ceilings as my hubby has a shoulder problem and can't do them.
He did a really good job.

I've just remembered that i haven't shown you the other decorated envelopes of the July envelope exchange:

Two totally different envelopes, both pretty but both empty, the second one was anonymous so i couldn't even say thank you. Weird that. I'll stick to postcards...

I think I'll go and have breakfast and later on I'll visit as many as i can, perhaps spread out over a few days like I did last week.

Wishing you all a good week,
blessings,
Lisca

  1. Aaah Lisca! If only you could see my desk. Still full of JUNK (aka not put away scrappy stuff!!) from scrap camp.... Bet the bird turns up in the funniest place! Love the other envelopes & you're very patient with the building work... Worth it for the wonderful space you will have:);)

  2. Hi Lisca. I'm chuckling at your comments. It seems we are joined but the excitement of building mess and the love of watching developments. The boxes you saw are the back boxes for the sockets....I was in charge of inserting the black rubber grommets and the discs of metal that I had to pop out first made quite a pile[ hubby said that was my wahes for doing the job :-) ]. My builders aren't quite as brave as yours when it comes to having their pics taken but they are rather a fit couple of guys so I'm happy to keep them all to myself ;-)
    Have a great week.
    Hugs,

  4. Hi !

  5. Sorry to hear about the flight of the pink birdie. Isn't that frustrating though. I once lost a bee die like that. It never did turn up and if I use the stamp have to fussy cut the little blighter!

It looks as if you there's lots of plastering to be done but he looks like a fine big strong man you have doing the job. Have a lovely week. Barb #27 xx

  6. Your new craft room looks very exciting, you can never have enough crafting space. I think your birdy has gone to join my earring that flew off over my head when I was sanding it.

  7. My desk is a mess at the moment...I hope you find your birdie soon. You just reminded me that I need to do the next part of our revamping before and after.

  8. Hi Lisca, your birdie will probably turn up when, and where, you least expect it to. In reply to last week, yes, I am a bit of a goth, lol. Plastering creates such a lot of dust, doesn't it? We had some done a couple of years ago, and the mess it created! Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #5 xxx

  9. Such an exciting time for you with having this building going on. Just think how wonderful it is all going to be.
Sorry the birdie has flown - I lost something the other week and it never turned up but now I cannot remember what it was even. So much for the memory!
Have a good week and keep the sun shining over there.
    Hugs, Neet 15 xx

  10. Plastering is an art form in itself, I think. He looks like a good craftsman doing a good job. Even though your work area is temporary, the light is fantastic in there. I'd be loath to move out!!
And I lose things all the time, so you're not alone :-)
    Hugs, LLJ 11 xx

  11. Hi there - thanks for visiting last week - I had to work in London for a couple of days & was away at the weekend - so missed visiting desks ! Great to see how your room is coming together - plastering is such a skilled job & the experts make it look effortless don't they ! Sure I would never get anything to stick !!! have a great week Ali xx #10

  12. Hi Lisca, I hope you had something nice for breakfast! Always like reading your posts, as they are always interesting. I am also working on a ceiling (painting) and I have a shoulder problem too, so I have to pause a lot, hehe. The plaster looks good, doesn't it.
    Thanks for your earlier visit.
    Hugs

  13. Weird indeed, to receive an anonymous, empty envelope... I would at least put a nice postcard in it! Like the one you show in today's post, the girl with the books. LOVE THAT ONE! Your working space is bright and light indeed, enjoy! Happy woyww and a big hug from stormy Holland, Marit #33

  14. Lisca, Your sausages look more like Chipolatas, as our sausages are much thicker.

You have a lovely bright space to craft in. The envelopes are certainly different.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

    Happy WOYWW

  15. Hello Lisca ... thanks for popping by my blog earlier - was lovely to have you visit! Glad you enjoyed seeing my cogs (LOL I just typed clogs ... must be because I was thinking of you in Holland!) I'm afraid I am a bit addicted to cogs and old watch or clock parts! Happy Crafting & Happy WOYWW'ing! Love Debbie #25 xXx

  16. Hi Lisca, lovely to hear from you! I was wondering whether you moved into your new building yet - your craft room already looks fantastic, so light and airy - I bet you can't wait for it to be finished. You will spend lots of happy hours creating in there. Exiting times ahead - enjoy! zsuzsa

  17. That happens to me - it's so annoying isn't it - I hope you have something just as lovely to place in your layout instead. Your craft area is looking very organised considering you are living amongst building work. Thanks so much for stopping by my desk earlier, I hope you have a great week,

  18. Hi Lisca, bit late getting round this week as I have lots to do but here now. Very sensible to get a professional to do the ceiling. We had our kitchen re-plastered and they are amazing at what they do. I don't understand how it stays up there and sure it wouldn't if I was doing it! Have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x 28

  20. I have the feeling that the birdie is going to appear in some odd place, and you won't be able to figure out how it got there - LOL! It looks like your knew art studio gets a lot more natural light. Blessings, my friend!

  21. Hullo Lisca, love the new building ... Interesting I guess but also a tad testing to live in a WIP or work in progress...
Ah so relate to that bird like me and the die, and yes I cleaned up too...and found it where I left expected it... Under something I thought I had moved, was I pleased?!! ever so thankful for answered prayer.
Happy WOYWW and no worries about being late, I was doing it right up to Tues night last week. This week been laid up with two removed cancers on shoulder and leg, so must rest more, which means iPad time :)

  22. Glad you studio is coming along nicely, Lisca - one day you won't know yourself! Very well done, improvising in the meantime. Lots going on! Recently I lost a shape I'd made to go in Shaz's parcel, and it turned up in the bin!! Duh. Maybe your little birdie will fly home one day.

Thanks for your lovely comment. I am glad to say that I am feeling a lot better now, and have a clear week until it all starts again. I've got an exciting commission on and I'm hoping they'll give me permission to blog about it eventually, and in the meantime everything else has had to take a back seat including my neighbour's card and pressie, and the smock! They will get done eventually, I promise! It's a pain, having a couple of weeks out of every three when I'm effectively out of action, but there are only 3 more treatments to go and then hopefully there'll be no holding Shoshi back!!

I'm always late with my WOYWW comments. I can't possiby do them all on the Wednesday and spread them through the week. Actually I don't consider the comments late as long as they happen before 11.59 p.m. on the Tuesday night lol lol! Always nice to hear from you anyway.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
    Shoshi #42
