I've been a busy girl! My desk is a mess, a crafty mess.
I'm making ATCs. I've been saying that I would like to have a go at ATCs since the New Year. Now I am making some. I am using teabags and doodles and the purple you see is a cut up basmati rice canvas bag.
Earlier this week I have been making greeting cards with decoupage. The back grounds and the decoupage images came from a kit, but then I added my own bling and ribbons and brads etc. I think they turned out rather well. Here are a few. (All without sentiments as I like to do that at the last moment):
I have yet to add the twine on the 'baking' card.

In my previous posts I have been telling you that I have been fussy cutting. I found some decoupage sheets at the back of my craft supplies and remembered how I enjoyed the cutting. I found it quite relaxing. I took the sheets with me on our Easter holiday and now I have been making cards with the decoupage I have cut.
Here is my desk with a card in the making:
The blue is handmade paper and I want to tear it. I was debating whether to wet it a bit so it tears better...
Here are a few that are practically finished. The square card with the roses will get some bling, the lilies are condolences cards so no bling for those. What am I going to put on the 'male' card with the race car? Most embellishments are too feminine...
I'm off to the gym now and then I will enloy looking at your desks and leaving some comments. But before I leave you I will show you my customary postcard:
It is a not-so-spectacular postcard of La Calahorra, a village a little south of where we live in Andalucia. It has only 800 inhabitants but is famous for its castle on the hill (16th century). The final scenes from David Bowie's film Stardust (1974) were filmed there. Here is a link to some really nice photos on Wikipedia.

Good morning girls and boy (that would be Arnaldo)!
It's Wednesday again and for me that means getting up that little bit earlier before I go to the gym to post this. A post that shows the world my desk. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, this is a blog hop peeping over people's shoulders to see what they are making/crafting/creating/messing about with. Julia at Stamping Ground has all the details).
This is our new living quarters, that we have moved into last week. It is a large kitchen and living room all in one.
That was the kitchen last week, before my desk was ready. The carpenter put my desk in on Monday and yesterday I moved my computer onto it, and this is what it looks like now: Tada!
There is nothing on my desk though. All my craft stuff is downstairs and I haven't done much crafting lately.
You can see we have lit the stove. It is pretty lousy weather here today, excuse my French. It's cold and raining. The rain is a blessing, mind, as it rains so seldom, the farmers are dancing a jig around their plots!
I have been going to art classes so I can show you what I have done there:

I copied this from a statue. She has her arm over her head, which looks a bit weird I guess.
And here is the above mentioned young man:
No, we did not have live models, lol.(Oh what a shame!) Again it was a picture of a statue (Greek?). My teacher liked it very much and wrote "Muy Bien" by the side of it, which means "well done".
I will leave you with a photo taken a few days ago near where we live:
It is the Sierra Nevada with almond trees in the foreground. The Sierra Nevada has a ski resort (just outside Granada). The mountains don't look so high but we live on a high plain (altoplano) at 1200 m altitude (3600 ft), so that is deceiving really.

Good Morning dear 'deskers'. It's Wednesday again and that's when we bare all when it comes to our workdesks. Warts and all.
Well mine is full of warts so to speak:
We have been away for a week and it is an unholy mess!
The open book is my tangle journal which I brought with me on holiday. I did a few pages as you can see. It's this book:
I love the idea of the book and the tasks/challenges/excercises. But the quality of the paper is not good and the ink bleeds through the page. Look:
The left hand page has the pattern from the previous page showing through. Not good...
I sometimes participate in Traveling Notebooks. One from a girl in France arrived the day before we left on our holiday. Today I made a start by printing some photos.
I got allocated several pages in which to write something about myself, my village and a local recipe. Then I send it to the next person. There will be about 10 people on the list from different countries and eventually the girl in France will get an interesting book back.
There are some Postcrossing postcards there that shouldn't really be in the photo but fortunately the address is not visible.
I have been doing some decoupage too at the campsite. I found this book with everything in it to make a card. Ideal for the holidays.

Yes, I know, Easter has been and gone.... but I thought these eggs were so beautifully decorated that I wanted to share them with you. (The card came from Poland).

Good morning! Today is another chance to spy on each other's desks. If you don't know about this desk hopping, go to Julia's blog Stamping Ground where all is explained.
Here is my desk this morning:
There are some more freesias from my little courtyard. They are lovely and fragrant. Next to the monitor there is a pile of birthday cards that I am going to open as soon as my DH comes down with the breakfast he is lovingly preparing. Yes, it's my birthday today! Tada! I'm 65!
I'm typing this early as later on today we are going away in our campervan to the coast until Monday. I have a bottle of Chardonay in the fridge for our lunch on the way and tonight we shall 'dine' in a restaurant.
The other thing on my desk is... decoupage! Yes, it was fashionable years back and I still have a box full of decoupage sheets. I know most of you would shudder at the thought of fussy cutting in this age of Silhouette cutting machines, but I enjoy doing it and find it relaxing to do for an hour or so when I sit outside on the terrace in the sun. I did quite a few and I have put them all on some white paper for you to see.
Yes, definitely posed. Now all I need to do is make the cards....
I'm still continuing to do the free digital scrapbooking for beginners course at The Scrapaneers. I have finished my second lay out. Like last week it was complicated as I had to 'translate' from Photoshop Elements into the Adobe Photoshop CS6 that I have and then into Spanish as I have Spànish software!
I still have a problem resizing photos. In PSE if you resize them by the corners, it will be proportionate. In PSCS it doesn't do that and I don't know how to keep the photo in the same proportions. Anyone know?
A while ago, one of you was making a load of cards and asked if anyone would like a birthday card. I wrote back: "yes, please as I don't get many." Well, it arrived a few days ago, my mystery card from Canada. I've just opened it and it is beautiful!
It's from Michelle in Whitby, Canada. If you are reading this Michelle, a huge thank you! I am so 'chuffed' as they say. By far the best birthday card I received and the only handmade one.
That is it from me today. I'm going to open the rest of my cards now.
Oh, and I might not be able to do many visits or comments as I don't know if the campsite has wifi and if they have, how good it is.

Hello peeps! Good morning!
It´s Wednesday again and I am linking up with Julia at Stamping Ground.
I´m really sorry to hear that Julia is not well at the moment. I hope she can have her operation soon.
We are here to share our work desks, but mine has not got any craft stuff on it today. In stead, there is a brand new desk top computer. Tada:
It´s a desk top computer. The computer itself is under my desk and the screen and keyboard are visible in this photo. I chose a big screen. It´s quite a whopper!
It´s my birthday next week (I´ll be 65!) and I´ve treated myself to Photoshop CS6. I´m having a go at digital scrapbooking. I´m doing a free online course with The Scrapaneers. It´s quite complicated as the course is with Photoshop Elements which is not exactly the same as PS. On top of that, my Photoshop program is in Spanish, so it´s taking me ages to figure out what to do.
But I have managed to complete the lay out of lesson 1:

Hello deskers. Good morning!
I have to disappoint you today as my desk is literally empty. I have cleared it completely as I am waiting for my new desktop computer to be delivered later today! I am so excited! This laptop is on its last legs. It keeps dying on me and runs too hot too. Besides it has Windows Vista which soon will no longer be supported. So, its time for a new one.
Last night I went to my embroidery group and I photographed some of the work they are doing.
Not such a good photo. This lady is making a little skirt for her niece in the traditional style used for folk dancing and fiestas.
She is using the same fabric (locally made in the village) as I am using for my table cloth. (See last week's blog).
Different colour, different stitch, different lady.
I apologize for the bad quality of my photos. My camera has also seen better days. I believe in 'inbuilt obsolescence'. I think things are made to last only a certain amount of time, so that they can sell you more stuff. How annoying though....
As it was International Day of the Women yesterday, we had a little celebration with cakes after our embroidery was cleared from the table. Here we are (with yours truly on the right already with my jacket on).

Hi everyone! Here is my contribution to What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, headed by our chief 'desker' Julia Dunnit at Stamping Ground.
There is nothing on my desk this morning, so no photo of that. But I will show you what I am doing at the moment.
Last year I joined an embroidery circle in the village. Embroidery is something I had never done before (apart from cross stitch, but that doesn't count as embroidery according to the 'experts').
I started last year by buying some heavy bordeaux (wine) colored material for a table cloth.
Then I chose a motif
and yarn, and I have been dutyfully embroidering every Tuesday evening for two hours. I've unpicked it about four times but now I am happy with the 'fill-ins'. This is the result so far:
I work on this table cloth when I am with the ladies.
At home I am working on this linen hand towel. It's cross stitch so I don't dare bring it to the group.
This side is finished and I am in the process of finishing the other side. I would like it to go in my new bathroom, so I better hurry up!
Our new place is coming on steadily. My DH is working on the bathroom, but as this week is such glorious sunny weather, he has decided to tile the big terrace. So the bathroom is as yet unfinished.
The kitchen is taking shape. The carpenter has delivered and put up the carcasses of the kitchen units.
And today he will come and do the doors. (photos on this Friday's blog). We have ordered the granite worktop yesterday. So we're getting there!

Good Morning deskers! How are you all? Ready for a nosey bloghop? This is the bloghop where we all look at each other's desks to see what we are up to.

This is part of my desk today.
It is the other side of my desk where my sewing machine is. I have bought some material recently and I have spread it out a bit for you to see. It is traditional Andalucian curtain material that is used in caves for curtains between rooms . (not all caves have doors to the rooms). I am going to use it to make a bag for my lace making cushion to replace the one that had been nibbled by mice. I really like the bright colors. I have a little bit of orange colored material I bought a few weeks back. I'll use that for the lining.The material is 2 m wide so I have enough left to do a cover for my sewing machine which is much needed as you can see.
I've also been doing my jigsaw, which is now finished:
I love baking and I can't wait for my new kitchen to be ready so that I can use my new large oven to bake lots of nice things. This weekend I made a cake with fruits of the forest and cream. I had some cream which was nearing its use-by date so I found this recipe of a cake made with cream.
It was nice but it didn't taste much different to a cake without cream (perhaps a bit heavier).
While I was at it I also made loads of muffins, also with the fruits of the forest. I had a whole pack of fruit in the freezer which I defrosted, so I had to use them up. (Well, that's my excuse...)
Has anyone heard of 'Farinata'? No, I hadn't either despite my years of living in Italy. It's a pizza without topping, made with chick pea flour (garbanzo flour). As I have a wheat intolerance, I'm experimenting with different flours to bake nice things. (I don't get to eat any of the cakes I make. I allow myself one bite to find out what it tastes like. That's it).
Here is the farinata I made. It was gorgeous:
Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle.

I am really reluctant to show you my desk this morning. It is an almighty mess. But this is what Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday is all about. If you want to know more, Julia at Stamping Ground will explain all.
There are my head phones, a diary/journal, a water bottle, my Bible, my lacemaking cushion, some loose bobbins, and some tiny boxes I have made out of left over Christmas cards.
I have started a new lace project. I want to make some small stars to hang in my Christmas tree next Christmas. Lacemaking takes ages to do, so I am starting now.

Speaking of lacemaking.... Through Postcrossing I received a lovely postcard recently from Russia.
I think this Russian lace is really beautiful, don't you?
The other thing I have been doing is... starting another jigsaw puzzle! Yes, I love doing jigsaws. Dear son-in-law gave me this one. It shows all the kings and queens of England.
This is as far as I got so far.

Good morning! I've been away over the holiday period (and longer) but now we're back home and things are more or less back to normal.

I have opened a few Christmas presents that were waiting for me when we came back. Here is a lovely cushion from my step-daughter.
I really love it. And it is also comfortable as it fits snugly in the small of my back.
And this is the teeniest nativity scene I have ever seen. My cousin sent it. The box it is in would normally be used for a ring, it's that small. Isn't it gorgeous?
