Hello lovely ladies,
It's Friday again and this week has really flown by. Nothing much has happened this week so I'll start with my postcard.
It is another one of the funny aunties. It comes to me from Finland and pictures the aunties diving into a hole in the ice (Brrrr!).
It's very hot here in Spain and it is good to look at a bit of snow and ice. In Finland they do dive in ice cold water as part of the sauna ritual.
The person that sent it to me is 70 years old and has been a nurse in her professional life, working for the Red Cross Blood Service.
The stamps are lovely and one of them features the aunties hoola-hooping down the stairs.
The aunties were made famous by the illustrator from Finland Inge Löök. I found this info about her on the Internet:
It was in the mid-70s that Inge Löök pseudonym of the artist, real name Ingeborg Lievonen, started working both as a graphic artist and as a gardener. At the same time, she started illustrating books and other printed material as a freelancer for various employers. Today, she feels that her drawing requires the gardening tasks to balance her every day life. When it rains and it’s dark outside it feels fine to stay inside, but not when the sun shines and it’s warm. Everything in life is about balance. It’s a great joy and fortune to do what one really enjoys.
Inge Löök drew the first four images of the aunties in 2003. These illustrations were intended as Valentine’s Day cards, but unexpectedly, the season became quite long. “I couldn’t understand why the cards became so popular and I still have a hard time understanding why two toothless and not so attractive old aunties have become this cherished. With my illustrations, I prefer to explore the inner world of the aunties, as opposed to their outer shell. I prefer to stay with the aunties in the small moments, which they share so well”, Inge Löök explains.
Her inspiration comes from things she has done with her neighbour. Together with her neighbour, Inge Löök has had wine in the tree, they have sailed with a parasol and they have had a picnic under the table. Most of the adventures of the aunties that Inge Löök has drawn show what she in real life has experienced with her neighbour.
Hubby is feeling a lot better and I have lots to smile about. Things are on the up. We went to Granada city this week for another scan, then there is one last scan (a TAC) on the 15th and then we hope to hear when the operation will be. Probably at the end of the month.
What else have we been doing this week? On Saturday evening we witnessed the baptism of our friends' son. It was held at the lake and it was a beautiful occasion. We were honoured to be there. As the boy is a minor (he is 15) I have blanked out his face.
Afterwards there were soft drinks and snacks on the beach.
Another smile for me this week is my cactus. It seems to be having two little 'babies'!
I bought this cactus as a tiny little thing one day at Lidl, and look at it now.
That is all from me this Friday. As per usual, I will put some funnies at the end.
But for now I will say Goodbye and
Have a lovely weekend,
Keep smiling,
Hugs,
Lisca

Oh, lucky you with the weather. Here it´s cold and rainy.
And those aunties.. I understand why people love them - don´t we all want be like that?
Yay to your Hubby and the lake and water, just perfect - as the sunrise and yes, that lady that lives in the moment!
The two farmers are right, too. Lovely message, too, but now has ups, too.
The tooth fairy!!!
Happy weekend!
I loved those aunties and in stamps too, thanks about the artist. so glad your husband is doing well. what a wonderful baptism. My grandparents went to a country church and they had a dug out area in the basement of the church kinda like a deep bathtub in cement-I think the ocean would be nicer. Loved the memes especially the last one. Happy friday and weekend Hugs Kathy
Good news about Graham I hope his operations comes through before the summer slowdown.
Those Aunties seem to pop up quite regularly. I saw some in a local magazine last week.
I had some chuckles at your funnies, especially the old lady on her fourth marriage.

I've tried three times to leave a comment and get "comment failed." Trying again.
Those aunties are adorable. It's nice they also make stamps that compliment the postcard. Great to learn a bit about the author, too.
Nice to read about Graham. So good to see he's still active, too. Your cactus is sure doing well.
Sorry, Lisca, but some of your funnies went over my head. I DID like the lady with the four husbands and the Einstein quote. Have a super week, dear.
I've tried several times to leave you a comment from my ipad with no luck so am now on my laptop...and keeping my fingers crossed.
I'm so thrilled Graham is feeling better. I think your cactus has reached puberty and is ready for its first bra lol. Your funny about the reaching 18 made me laugh cos only last week our eldest invited herself to lunch and on Sunday morning our son walked in and helped himself to breakfast before we went to Edgbastion to watch the cricket....our door [and food cupboards] are always open lol.
Hugs,
Annie x
Hi Lisca, those Aunty cards are so funny the artist is so good at designing these and a stamp too....brilliant! Pleased you've had a good week and Graham is looking really happy too. Loving the funnies and the serious bits too. Thanks for you kind thoughts about Maisie she was a great character and we have fond memories of her. She is greatly missed. We decided if we are getting a new dog we need to do it now while Stan is still able to cope with a puppy around the house. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Angela xXx
A post chock full of interesting things Lisca! I just LOVE that postcard art- so nice of your cousin. Glad it's been a good week-and that you will be able to see one of your sons in Portugal for a little get away. I enjoyed all the funnies and thoughtful memes at the end as well. Happy T day!
Wow, Lisca. So much going on in your life and your fridge! Your family and you are so well travelled and so knowledgable. I am always impressed and eagerly view your pictures! I am super glad you are both feeling better and getting to see family. I would love to try all your drinks! Fun stuff. Happy T-day and many hugz
You are always so busy. I am thrilled that Graham is feeling better. Yes, his smile shows it. The cactus is beautiful. I do love the stamps too. Thank you for your prayers.
Love those postcards, Lisca. The Mucha one is my favorite and of course the Aunties are a hoot.
You have a well-stocked fridge for sure. I don't drink alcohol but your cans have beautiful labels.
I enjoyed some of your memes.
Glad to hear that your hubby is feeling better.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
