Hello peeps, it's Friday again! How that week flies!
Here I am again with a postcards, funnies and something about my life here in Spain.
The card I received yesterday is beautiful. It is an alpine meadow on the slopes of the Rosa Khutor mountain in Russia. It was sent by Anastasia in Sochi.
She writes: "There are alpine meadows on the slopes of the Caucasian Mountains. Here is the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve, and near there are ski slopes and Winter resort Rosa Khutor. Caucasian mountains (are) the youngest mountains in the world, so sometimes there are small earthquakes in Sochi. Because they move."
The stamps are spectacular:
I haven't been able to look them up yet as I have only just received the card.
Those stamps certainly made me smile. What else has made me smile this week? Hubby has been doing the 'rejas', the railings that go in front of the windows.
Here he is putting rust cure stuff on them and then he spray painted them.
This is what it looks like in situ:
When I took the picture, only one window was done, and we also will have a little gate in the porch to prevent dogs from peeing on our door.
Here is the small one close up:
When I instructed the chap to make them, he asked me to draw what I wanted, so the design is my choice. On a walk through the village it is noticeable that every house has different rejas. Interesting.
The beam above the window still needs to be stained .
One of the joys of life, for me, is reading a good book. I have collected a few t-shirts and 'funnies' about reading books.
I hope you have all had a good week. I'm going to join Annie at A Stitch In Time. Please join us and tell us what made you smile this week.
Then while you're at it, move on to Virginia at Rocking Your World Friday.
Have a great weekend and a good week ahead with lots of smiles.

I have that same reading disease too. I read a lot also. A good book is always a very addicting thing. Your rejas look very nice too. You did a great job designing them. happy weekend Lisca. hugs-Erika
Wow, those postage stamps are amazing, aren't they! What a lovely postcard and I enjoyed reading about the mountains too 😁. Your rejas looks wonderful and you created a beautiful design. I smiled about the book funnies, so true! Happy Friday and Weekend! J 😊 x
Great stamps, I just love those. I'm pleased that it's not just me that reads in bed, it seems to be the only time I get the chance. Loving the photos of the outside of the house. The window rejas look lovely. Have a great weekend, Angela xXx
Oh those stamps are fabulous aren't they!
I love the photo of the rejas in situ, do they serve a purpose? They look like some sort of security but then you look like you have electric shutters as well so I'm not sure.
I love the funnies as always
I hope you have a fabulous weekend and week ahead.
Hugs
I like your rejas. They are the same design as mine, more or less. I think they look a lot nicer than the more modern persians. Graham has done a good job on them.
Like you, I love books but I mostly read in bed, and I keep going until I nod off and drop the book. then I am awake again!!
happy reading. Kate x
Love those t-shirts Lisca! Was it you that recommended Kate Morton's book The Forgotten Garden? I have just finished The House at Riverton, which was a great read, and have The Forgotten Garden and The Lake House on my bedside table ready to read.
Lovely photos, and I love those beautiful stamps!
Have a great week,
Alison xox
