A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 2 August 2016 ATCs and building work

Good Morning,

And a very happy Tuesday to you all!

A while ago I mentioned on my blog that I was practicing drawing. I had bought the Flow drawing book and was practicing my tea cups. (as you can se in this rather dark photo).

Of course the tea cups were going to feature on my ATC for the T for Tuesday anniversary. Three years of T for Tuesday was celebrated with an ATC swap a few weeks ago. I have already received my first ATC from this exchange:

This one came from Linda K. Thanks Linda. I love it. Soo sweet. It came in this beautiful hand-made envelope which I shall treasure.
That was truly happy mail! Knowing that I collect postcards (and perhaps she knew that I particularly love map cards) Linda sent me a map of Pennsylvania, the state where she lives.
I have sent ATCs to the people I arranged to swap with and I had made an extra one for Elizabeth, being the 'leading lady' host of this T for Tuesday blog. But Elizabeth has let me know that she would rather not receive it in the mail, so I will show it here:
(The green blobs are the digital eraser). The other side of the ATC features the 'extra terrestrial in tribal outfit' made with recycled bits of fabric.
The black dots are shimmering but that's not so visible on the photo.

I finally have been able to source transparent pockets to put my ATCs in and they have arrived eventually (there was a problem with the courier). So I am very happy. They (the ATCs) are all nicely put in the pockets and can be displayed. (or hung up on the wall for me to look at).

The plasterer has finished plastering the enormous stairwell, and my craft room. Hurray! DH can now get on with making the shelving so I can start crafting again!

The door on the right is the door to our living quarters. The door at the top is our back door which is on street level. I am standing (taking the photo) at the door to the craft room (which you can't see). My DH has started to tile the stairs starting at the top. During the weekend he has got as far as the door to the living room. It's looking mighty fine and i am very pleased! (to say the least).

If you have a blog that has anything related to a drink in it, please join us at Elizabeth and Bleubeard's T for Tuesday.

Have a fab Tuesday and a great week,

  1. I am loving your teacup drawings Lisca-great job! I cannot believe you received the mail from me already-I am impressed! So glad you enjoyed the ATC along with the postcard-glad I still had one local one to share. Must get a few more:) The tiled stairs are going to be gorgeous.Looking forward to seeing them completed. Happy T day!

  2. That staircase is not for sissies ;-) you really get your exercise. Hope to see it when it is complete. I am sure it will be wonderful. The plaster already looks perfect.
    Lovely art mail from Linda!
And your tea cups are coming along nicely.
Very original ATC's you created too = FUN!

  3. Your tea cup drawings are wonderful. Love the ATC Linda sent. and the ones you made. That stair well is HUGE! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

  4. the tea cups turned out gorgeous! i was wondering about the ATC pockets... you normally get them in every shop for childrens toys, as they are for collecting the various swapping Cards they have (oh well, maybe "had", not sure if i am up to date... but in the times i made atcs i always got them there. there are even sort of books or Albums for collecting them.)
i´m looking Forward to the tiles of the staircase, which really Looks very sportive;)
have a great week and happy t-day!

  5. Your cup drawings look fabulous. Super ATC's as well, Linda's looks great. You seen so busy at home, I bet you cannot wait to get your craft room back.

  7. Your tea cup drawings are lovely, Lisca. I think you did a fantastic job. I was truly impressed. It's not that I didn't want an ATC from you, I just felt bad because I only made two. I like to reciprocate and can't do that right now.

The stairs are coming along nicely, and now on to the craft room.

Yes, some background noise is basil, but the other photo has all my blackberries and other herbs showing, too. Glad you liked that I got the turtle out of harm's way. The building with the wind turbine is a concert hall, and that is the back side. It's huge and just outside of town.

Thanks for joining us for T this Tuesday, and if you really want my mailing address, please ask Halle. My e-mail spits out spam.

  8. Well my goodness those are NICE teacups for sure Lisca.... What wonderful work on your house you are having done!! Ihope you will show us your craftroom!!Happy T day~ Hugs! deb

  9. I'm taken by your extra terrestrial in tribal outfit :) I love the window in your stairway. What a great way to let sunshine into a space not likely to get any otherwise. Sweet! Happy T Tuesday!

  10. The ATC from Linda is fabulous, I definately did find delight in the little bird's hat and black and white stocks - beautiful! Your tea cup ATC is wonderful and very thoughful too! Loving the renovations, no long now before the tiles are finished :-). By the way I bought some of those Saturn peaches today, can't wait to try them! Wishing you a Happy T Day! J :-).
p.s. Hope you like the turtle kite photo on my blog :-)

  11. Oh Lisca! I only remembered that I hadn't shown your lovely ATC after I got into bed last night! Please accept my apologies - a lot going on at the moment! I love your cup drawings and of course the happy mail you received! I bet your craft room will be great! Hugs, Chrisx

  12. Fantastic Tea cup drawings, your doing great.

LOVE the stair case photo, my knees...not so much...LOL
I am so fascinated by your house and the layout of it. I would love to be able to see it in person. Good to hear that some things are in the finishing stages, I know that makes you happy.

I missed the ATC anniversary swap this year :( but there has been too much on my plate to join anything. Only two more weeks and the girls go back to school, then I might get back into a normal routine.

    Happy T-day

  13. Fun ATC's and drawings this week Lisca. Glad to see the plastering improvements. Hope it was a great T day. Hugs-Erika
