A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 13 March 2018 - T for wine again, Switzerland and Ladybirds

Hello lovely people. Here we are again on Tuesday. The week flies by so fast.

Let me start with T for Tuesday, the T-party hosted by Elizabeth and Bluebeard at Altered Book Lover. The idea is to have a drink or anything drink related in the blog post.
On Friday evening we often go out with our friends. This time we went to a newly opened eatery. We arrived at 9ish and the place was empty.
We were the first customers. People eat late in Spain and at 10 pm all of a sudden, the place was absolutely packed!

Here is hubby with  my friend after we had ordered, but the drinks had not yet arrived.
Her husband spotted someone he knew at the bar and went over to chat and I then quickly photographed the other side of the restaurant before the hordes would arrive.

I really liked the lamps (made of bottles). Good idea or what?

Then the food and drinks arrived and I completely forgot to take any pictures!  So I'll have to think of something else.

This photo was taken at Sunday lunch time. We were unexpectedly invited to have lunch with a couple from church. They themelves don't drink at all but they know that we drink wine with our meal so they had gotten wine especially for us.  So kind. I didn't have the heart to tell them that I was on a diet. More so becaue the food was so nice.
In the photo you see only the first course: a salad, croquettes and Serano ham.

Yes, I have done some more scrapbooking on Thursday. This is one of the lay-outs I did. It is my little grandson and his daddy.
Now, before I forget: here are my postcards for today.  This one got sent to me from the UK. It shows the front of a Ladybird book from 1973.

I remember Ladybird books from my childhood but I don't know this one from 1973 as I was an adult by then.
The stamps are lovely. Just a shame someone (the post office?) has cancelled the stamps with a ball point.
The next one comes from Switzerland. It was sent by someone called Thomas. He tells me he lives with his wife (who is a piano teacher at the local grammer school) in Spiez.
The card is an old travel poster from 1937 designed by Otto Baumberger and comes from the poster collection of the Zurich Museum of design. I really love it and would be happy to have this hanging on my wall.
The stamps are beautiful. The one on the right is about Postcrossing (which is what I do to get all these postcard).

That's all from me this Tuesday. wishing everyone a good week, and see you at the T-Party!
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

Although Europeans in general eat later than we do in the US I cannot believe just HOW late they eat in Spain! Your lunch looks delightful. fab postcards- and I agree about the second one, I love it! Happy week ahead and happy T day!

Many years ago we visited Spain and I remember going to eat at 9 PM, which seemed so late, and by 10 it was crowded, just as you said. It was amazing to me. I also found it interesting that restaurants seemed to only have one seating. If they were full they turned you away instead of telling you to wait. I guess different cultures do it differently which is actually a very good thing. It makes the world a more interesting place. You got some great postcards this week too. Hope you have a happy T day Lisca. Hugs-Erika

awesome postcards loved your scrapbook pages, and what a pretty place to eat.I couldn't imagine trying to eat a meal that late at night but I think allot of Europe does that.
Happy T Day

That was a nice place you went to eat, but that would be too late for me these days, I usually eat at 6p.m. The postcards are great, I always loved ladybird books. Your scrapbook page is beautiful, and the food you got at your friends' place looks amazing, too. And that was just the first course?? Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

I only eat one meal a day, and usually it is much later than most people would eat. That's why going out for lunch throws my system out of whack for several days. I enjoyed seeing the restaurant where you ate, though. Those lamps were great.

I asked my postal carrier to NOT use a black magic marker to cross out/cancel the stamps because I use them in my art. She finally agreed to not do it again. I know the frustration it causes. I really liked the postcards, though and it didn't detract from the images, at least.

I was just about to write a post that includes ladybirds. It's amazing, because we call them ladybugs here in the states.

I really enjoyed the wonderful food and drink you shared with us. I'm really hungry, now. Thanks for sharing your postcards, scrapbook page, and food with us for T this Tuesday.

It looks a lovely modern restaurant, the lights made from the bottles were a great idea. I would have been happy with the starter you had as my main course.
Its a shame those lovely stamps were spoiled in the post, the postcards looked super and it was a fantastic scrapbook page.
Happy T day wishes.

The wine bottle lights are very clever, Lisca. Yes, good idea. Great scrapbook page of your grandson He's a handsome lad.

Interesting postcards. That's very special that Swiitzerland issued a stamp in recognition of postcrossing. I wonder if any other countries have. It would be neat to collect those.

Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

I love the postcards you share; they are so interesting and fun. But best of all I like your scrapbook layout. Your use of tags really caught my eye. Such a great idea, and I can't wait to do something like that on one of my layouts. Oh and I almost forgot, I love those bottle lights, too. They are so unique! Hope you had a great T Day!

The restaurant is so bright and open and your food looks amazing and colorful! I love the bottle lamps. Our bathroom fixtures are made of mason jars. Such a great way to re-purpose glass.
Your post cards are always so interesting. And I love the stamps.
Belated Happy Tea Day,
