WOYWW 372 - Welcome back Julia!

Welcome back Julia! Great to hear you are feeling up to hosting WOYWW again. And thank you LLJ for taking over temporarily and doing  a really good job!

I've been absent as well for a short time. A lot of other things happening but not a hint of crafting, so I didn't see much point...

I've had some happy mail yesterday:
Shaz (Silverwolf) has sent me some decoupage sheets! A whole pile of them! They are lovely and I can't wait to get going on them. I haven't got a craft room or desk at the moment and fussy cutting is something I can do sitting on the terrace or even at the kitchen table. Brill! Thank you Shaz, you're a star!

I found these little pieces of fabric and decided I would use them to make some ATCs.
This is the above mentioned kitchen table with the pot of gesso on it and me making an attempt at being messy.
This was the result:
Some spacemen in tribal dress! (My hubby's interpretation, and I think I'll stick with that one). Anyway, I'm having fun creating something.

I'm going to link up with Julia (Hurray she's back!) at Stamping Ground for What's On Your Workdask Wednesday, and I will try to visit most if not all of you. (even if it is later in the week).

Happy WOYWW,

Have a great week,

Lisca

  4. Love your tribal men - can see where DH got the name from - they are fun! That's a super package from Shaz hours of enjoyment there.
Thanks for the confirmation re the dentists. Good to know I am not the only scaredy cat around. Actually my dentist is lovely (just rung me to see how I was) and it is not like a dentists when you go in. All pink and green bistro chairs and lovely flowers etc - no smell either. Can recommend but a bit far for you to come.
Enjoy your week - Hugs Neet xx 2

  7. Hi Lisca, glad the package has arrived safely. Happy to have them go to a good home rather than collecting dust here! lol. Great description from your Hubby, and great you are trying out something new. I have a pot of Gesso, and some various mediums, I keep meaning to try them out. Maybe after my C card marathon! Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #3

  8. Hi Lisca, me again. I'd just gone back to my Christmas cards, and was stacking up the trees when I realised I hadn't answered your question. Yes, it is a stencil, a Dreamweaver one called LL573, Swirly Xmas Tree. It was done with embossing paste through the stencil, some I left white, others I used gold or silver embossing paste, then sprinkled glitter on while it was still wet, after I'd removed the stencil.xxx

    1. Thank you Shaz. Dreamweaver do some beautiful stencils. I used to buy the metal ones and dry emboss.

  28. Those ATCs look fun, you obviously enjoyed getting messy and good results at the end, and that fabric is fabulous.
Thanks for commenting on both blogs, sorry I got it wrong. The die storage unit that Margaret is looking after comes from http://www.clevercut.co.uk/ECatalogue.asp?Parent=MDF&Show=MDFSTORAGE&ShowDesc=MDF%20Craft%20Storage&Page=1. it is amazingly effective at the job, but rather expensive. I did ask Mr D if he could make me another one but he said he didn't have the tools or materials.
