Good Morning Tuesday gang!
I've been at it again! Yes, cake making I mean. This time a cheese cake. We were invited to a BBQ/gettogether and I offered to do the dessert.
The bottom part is short crust pastry (you can't see it because of the baking paper lining), then a cooked cheese layer (I use a sort of custard powder as well as fresh cheese from a tub), then the yogurt layer which I have let set with sheets of gelatin.
Here is my DH cutting the cake. It was very yummy and many people asked for a little piece to take home.
I'm going to link up with Elizabeth and Bluebeard at
T for Tuesday (that is the link). On Tuesdays we share something with a drink in it. In this photo there are still a few drinks on the table, so it qualifies...
And here is my postcard:
It is one that I sent out a while ago. Before retiring my DH used to work at Cadbury's. Originally he was a catering chef in the factory restaurant, then when the restaurant was privatized, he worked 10 years in the factory, making chocolate bars. Our house was always full of chocolate! (We had a stash under the stairs). I can't remember how I got this card, but of course it reminded me of DH's years in the factory.
My craft room is still being tiled so I am not doing much crafting. I am itching to start doing the ATCs for July's exchange. I'm also working my way through several online watercolor tutorials. I want to start using watercolors in cardmaking and ATCs. (So watch this space!)
I'll leave it at that.
Have a great week all of you,
Happy T-day,
Blessings,
Lisca

Yummy. Its an interesting cheesecake. Here in the US it is almost always a New York style cheesecake that doesn't use the thick yogurt layer on top. I think it looks delicious and must have been a hit. I love to see what people bake in other parts of the world. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika
Oh my, what a YUMMY post, you have me drooling thinking of Cadbury Chocolate bars and your gorgeous cheese cake....now I will go and eat my healthy carrot and celery soup! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
gorgeous looking dessert Lisca-no wonder people wanted some to take along! To have Cadbury chocolate at hand all the time would have been dangerous in our home. I always think of it for Easter time-Cadbury eggs:) Happy T day!
Delicious, cheesecake, I am not surprised folk took some home. What a dream job your husband had working with chocolate .
Happy Tuesday.
Yvonne
Oh cheesecake! LOVE it!! Looks amazing.
Happy T day!
Yum. I would take chocolate any day, and I like that the milk is the drink of choice used in these chocolate bars. I'm a big fan of cheesecake, but never had it with gelatin before. It sounds different.
You commented about Sally's expensive bill, but when you think of it, two of the packages were $3.00, several were $2.50, and the rest were $1.25. It all adds up quickly, even though you don't realize it until you start adding in your head. As for bay leaves, they don't grow here. If they did, I'd have them in my garden.
Thanks for sharing your cheesecake and milk laden chocolate bar with us for T this Tuesday. Sounds like your husband does much (or at least some) of the cooking at your home, since he was a catering chef in a former life.
Yes, you are right. It soon adds up doesnt it. A bay tree is a small bush like tree which grows in England as well as here in Spain.(but obviously not in the US).
As to the gelatin, I did not put it in the cheescake part, but used it to firm up the yogurt topping. You can't taste it really, it is just used to keep it firm so it can be cut. I also added lemon peel to the yogurt topping so it tasted fresh and light.
Your cake is mouth-watering!Love your photo and your postcard!Happy t day!
Now that is one amazing looking cheese cake YUM!!!!!
Now that is one amazing looking cheese cake YUM!!!!!
What an amazing looking cake. I had a long time friend who's hudband worked (until he retired) for Cadbury's in Birmingham, England. Not sure what he did there. They have both passed on but this made me think of them which was nice.
Forbidden wonderful yummie post today dear Lisca! Happy T-Day!

Oh my this looks delicious! I remember visiting the Cadbury factory with our sons years ago! Hugs, Chrisx
i´m not good with gelatin, so the more i admire the look of your cake. and i´m sure i would prefer if somebody invents the Option to Hand a Piece of it through the pc. haha. i would try to be the early bird to get some;)
have a great week, lisca!
Sounds like your cake made a hit! I know I'd have liked a taste :) Happy T Tuesday very late
Here a bit late to wish you Happy T Day dear Lisca.
Computer problems almost drove me crazy this week, but I'm back.
Your cake looks gorgeous. Cheesecake is such a decadent treat. It wouldn't be safe in the house with just husband and I ;-)
How nice for you to have a special chocolate connection LOL.
To me it is one of the food groups. I am especially fond of dark chocolate and remind myself that it is supposed to be healthy for you too.
Hope you're having a lovely weekend oxo
