Hello deskers. Good morning!
I have to disappoint you today as my desk is literally empty. I have cleared it completely as I am waiting for my new desktop computer to be delivered later today! I am so excited! This laptop is on its last legs. It keeps dying on me and runs too hot too. Besides it has Windows Vista which soon will no longer be supported. So, its time for a new one.
Last night I went to my embroidery group and I photographed some of the work they are doing.
Not such a good photo. This lady is making a little skirt for her niece in the traditional style used for folk dancing and fiestas.
She is using the same fabric (locally made in the village) as I am using for my table cloth. (See last week's blog).
Different colour, different stitch, different lady.
I apologize for the bad quality of my photos. My camera has also seen better days. I believe in 'inbuilt obsolescence'. I think things are made to last only a certain amount of time, so that they can sell you more stuff. How annoying though....
As it was International Day of the Women yesterday, we had a little celebration with cakes after our embroidery was cleared from the table. Here we are (with yours truly on the right already with my jacket on).
I'm going to link up with Julia at Stamping Ground for Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday although my desk was empty. Hope you don't mind.
Have a good week,
Blessings,
Lisca

Wow, those photos show some beautiful embroidery. Your group has some talented women in it. What a clean desk. You are really ready for that new computer. Hugs.

Ah the embroidery more than makes up for the empty desk, loving the shot of you all at the end as well!
Sometimes it does us good to simply see the empty space - but it's fun to fill it again! Enjoy your new computer - I expect there will be the usual steep learning curve in order to use it! Hope it goes well.
The embroidery group's work is amazing. Well done to the group!
Take care. God bless.

I LOVE that folky-patteren embroidery... awesome! I remember my mum ebroidered all kinds of flowers and butterflies on her jeans in the sixties (yep, 'hippie-folks'...) Hope your new laptop will work to your satisfaction! Happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit 34
Beautiful embroidery. I love getting new electronics. I'm a computer nerd! Congrats on your new computer!

Hi Lisca, lovely shots of your groups embroidery. Such a lovely artform, I think. I noticed you say you are not looking forward to having Windows 10 on your new laptop. Honestly Lisca, it is wonderful. Definitely the best and most stable OS Microsoft have ever made. We went over to it with all the computers in our house( don't laugh, I have mine, hubby has his gaming rig, he also has one for when he is working on other peoples pc's, we have a laptop, Hubby has another PC for his Rocksmith guitar sessions,he built a home file server,so 6 in all)and they have all been brilliant. And all the software companies, and Microsoft themselves are making more and more apps for 10, and less and less for older ones, so it's best to make the change willingly, rather than be forced by loss of all support. If you ever get stuck, message us on FB- Hubby will always help.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #5 xxx
It will be like a breath of fresh air, using a new desktop, you'll see! Nice idea to share your friends' embroidery projects and also to celebrate women's day. Looks like a lovely bunch of ladies there! Hope you have fun this week! zsuzsa #47
Absolutely gorgeous.
I understand the old computer problems, but when everything is good you can't live without them it seems! Your embroidery is gorgeous..a path I haven't ventured yet!
Happy Creating!!
Frustrating when tech equipment starts dying! I have still to come to the stage of loving Windows 10........
Love all the lacework - very delicate and beautiful!
Happy WOYWW

beautiful embroidery. I am sure you are right about things not being made to last. Good luck with the new computer!!! Cake is always good. Anne x #32
Gorgeous embroidery, what a lovely group of ladies. Hope everything goes well with the new computer. So all that is left is to wish you a happy woyww, Angela x 19
Happy WOYWW. I have always wanted to try some 'proper' embroidery (I have cross stitched for over 10 years). Did look into joining an Embroidery Guild course here - but it was ridiculously demanding and strict (think about museum quality work and no time for fun). Ali x #59
Happy wwoyd and just stunning so beautiful I just love your work. Enjoy your new computer.~Anne L
