A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 16 July 2024 - T for an anniversary, a BBQ and football

 Hello lovely peeps,

Congratulations to Elizabeth and Bluebeatd for hosting the T-Party for 11 years! I have been participating for ten of those. I am participating in a tea bag and postcard swap. These are the tea bags I'm sending to CJ:

The one on the left is a vanilla chai rooibos, and the one on the right is a night time herbal with camomile, fennel and valerian.

I couldn't resist sending her also a cold tea bag (an infusion in cold water) because of the name. It's called:
I'm sending CJ only one bag, not the whole box, because I like Sex On The Beach too!

The postcard is one of Granada, the capitaal city of our province:
And when I was in Madrid last month I got this bull fighter seen from behind...
No, I do not like bull fights and I don't watch it, but this was a sight to behold.

I also have regular postcard for you and some photos of places I've been to this week

This card arrived from Russia in May before I went on holiday and I don't think I have shown this one. It shows rotating display cases in the Imperial Public Library. It was sent to me by Eugenia who lives in Chelyabinsk, in the southern Ural:

She bought the card in the library when she visited there. The artist is N. L. Shcherbak.
I haven't found out much about the library other than it is in St Petersburg:
And that the Imperial Public Library was established in 1795 by Catherine the Great.

These are the stamps:

Right on to something else. What have I been doing? I have a visitor from South frica so I have been showing her around.

It's been very hot (and still is):
Her brother owns the neighbouring property and as such we have the use of the pool! Saturday we organized a BBQ for all the people she has been introduced to. We prepared chicken kebabs, and the usual sausages. Also some pork fillet.
There were 7 children enjoying the cool water and splashing around with thei dads.
Us older folks just stayed in the shade:
Here is my friend Dian getting a drink.

Then of course on Sunday there was the final of the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship (we're talking soccer here):

We were going to watch it in the town square, outside the council building:
But at 9 pm it was still very light even though the sun had gone behind the buildings. We decided to watch the first half of the game at home. Then at half time we would move. The interval was so shiort that we didn't get time to go anywhere, so we watched the second half at home too. Spain won!
We immediately went outside and found some friends at the bar behind my house and we celebrated:
For those who have noticed, I'm sorry the flag is upside down. No disrespect intended.
And for the really observant, there is a glass of red wine on the table, but it's not that obvious. That will be my 'ticket' to Elizabeth's T-Party.

And that, my dear friends, is all for today.

Happy T-Day all,

Lisca

That is a great concept to have rotating display cases. It's a lovely postcard. IO like the stamps, too.

I see your friend from So Africa is still visiting. Those kebabs look really good. And I see several people with drinks at the pool party.

Congrats on Spain winning the soccer match finals. I would not have noticed the flag until you mentioned it. However, I had spied the glass of wine you had on the table. Thanks for sharing your latest adventure, your postcard, the kebabs, and all your drinks with us for T this Tuesday, dear Lisca. I greatly appreciate you.

My Mom once visited Granada - she loved it!
Madrid > "Knackarsch" ;-)
You are so lucky with the weather!
Congrats on the soccer-game - funny enough, and fair enough there was soccer ads with all European nations even till yesterday.
And also still German flags around.
Have a happy T-Day!

I look forward to receiving the goodies you're sending. Hopefully, the postcards will be arriving soon. I'm mailing the other things today. That must have been fun going out after the game with your friend to celebrate the win. Congratulations, Spain! 🎊Happy T Day!
