A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 3 December 2019 - T for volcanoes, sea food and mugs

Good morning lovely people!
I have been having problems with power outs and all day we have been without power. when the power finally came back on, there was a power surge that blew our system. So here I am, In the middle of the night. Fed up and I'm afraid it's going to be a quicky.
First off is a card from Germany:

It i entitled: Dancing with the Devil  at the volcano in Fimmvörðuháls, April 010, South Iceland.
The tamps are beautiful as well as interesting.

Philippine "PinaBausch (27 July 1940 – 30 June 2009) was a German dancer and choreographer who, with a blend of movement, sound, and prominent stage sets, and with performers during the development of a piece (a style now known as Tanztheater), became an influence in the field of modern dance from the 1970s on.

The second card also comes from Germany. It features those typical German cookies that they make at Christmas time. I had a German colleague that used to make them (and bring them into work too.) They are really delicious.
I'm going to link up with Elizabeth and Bleubeard at altered Book Lover.  Please join us there with a beverage in your blog post.
My qualifyer is a mug (without a drink) which might make you smile.
In our language group Intercambio, I help Spanish people with their English. There are so many exception to the rules that it becomes really difficult to learn English. This is one of them:
The weekend before,  I went to Fuengirola (South Spain) for a conference. Luckily I didn't go for the weather because it was awful. There was a gale blowing. This was the view from the hotel. Look at those poor palm trees. I know Elizabeth loves palm trees, but these look rather wild.
I took the opportunity to eat a lot of fish and sea food, as my hubby doesn't like fish. So here was my chance.
Here is another drink, a Radler (Lager beer with lemon), and we were in a Thai noodle bar. This might not seem something out of the ordinary, but believe me, if you live in rural Spain like I do then a noodle bar is a real treat! (Btw, I had rice!)
Drink, drink, drink! (Radler again)
This was the view from our room. The sea is on the left. It is a typical coastal resort. Nothing special. But I did enjoy myself because the conference was good and I got together with friends I see only once a year. (And I ate a lot of sea food)
Here are two breakfast photos. Here we are having coffee in a cup (Quite often here they serve coffee in a glass)
This is the typical Andalucian breakfast: toasted bread with oil and tomatoes plus coffee. Very nice.
Hmm, have I shown you this one before..?

That is it from me today.
Happy T-Day all!
Take care,
Lisca

  2. Those are great postcards this week Lisca. That volcano photo is amazing. And the cookies suree look yummy. I also find your typical Andalucian breakfast fascinating. It is great to learn about what people eat for breakfast around the world and how much those breakfasts vary. Thanks so much for sharing, and all that fish too. I'm with you. I love fish. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

  6. I feel your pain with the power outage. I don't feel so weird (I before E) now because I'm not the only one this has happened to.

Love the postcards. That first one is amazing and the image is out of this world. Now I'm hungry for those cookies. I have a recipe for them and the tools to make them, too. These are lovely.

Palm trees have such short roots, I'm surprised some of them haven't toppled from that gale force wind you experienced while at the conference. Still, it's fun to see palm trees any time.

You ate and drank a LOT at the conference. I bet you had a great time from the various photos you took. Rice at a noodle bar! Hmmm. I'll take the seafood, you can have the rice (grin).

Thanks for sharing your postcards, your trip to the conference, your food, and all the drinks you shared for T this Tuesday. There were so many drinks, I lost count!

  9. It looks like you had some delicious meals when you were away Lisca. The wind must have done damage to the trees, they seemed to be bending quite a way over.

The post cards looked lovely as well.
    Happy T day wishes.

  10. Cute mug lol I like the "I before E" mug, too :) That sea view would be such a treat. I wish I'd been to enough coastal resorts to know what's typical ;) Your breakfast looks delicious. I've never had coffee in one of those little glasses. Cool! Happy T Tuesday

  11. The postcard of the volcano is truly amazing. I wouldn't want to see that in person but it is a lovely photograph. I made some of those German cookies last year for Christmas and everyone loved them. I may need to make some more this year.
I love your mug! I can imagine English is a difficult language to learn due the various exception to the rules. Many individuals with whom it is their first language still struggle with it.(Me ;) )
Yum! The toasted bread with tomatoes sounds like a delicious way to start the day. I have never been to a noodle bar but your meal is making my mouth water.
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  12. Lisca seeing your tostada con tomate made my mouth water as we have that most mornings after our walk along the Paseo, hopefully we will be tucking in to them next week.
I remember learning the i before e at school, always a complicated one,
A noodle bar in Spain! Whatever next, we have a spanish friend who wouldn’t even try Chinese food or Moroccan, we have quite a few Indian restaurants where we are too.
    Happy T day, Jan x

  13. Lovely postcards. I enjoy the stories you tell about them. The mug with the eye at the bottom made me laugh. That is just too fun. I've seen the English rules mug before. You don't realize how hard English is until you read that mug. Glad you had a good conference despite the storm. Those palm trees look like they are almost blowing over! 😱 And glad you got your fill of seafood. I love seafood. Hope your electricity is back on and running. Happy T Day.

  14. Oh, my goodness! Now, I know why I have so much difficulty spelling words with ie or ei in them! I knew the rule for i before e except after c but did not know all those other exceptions! LOL Lovely photos of your time at your conference. Looks like great fun and food. Happy T Day!

  16. So sorry to hear of your power surge. The damage they do can be very expensive. We haven't had one for a while - gracias a Dios - but they used to be very common here.

Beautiful stamps from Germany. Funny cup. I laughed out loud at "i before e." So true. I'm glad I'm trying to learn Spanish rather than English, my 1st language.

    Happy T-day! Eileen xx

  17. Ohhh Lisca, hope the power problem has been solved now. I like very much your cards and the stamps. Great volcano. Your mug makes me smile. Wish you had a very happy T-day.
This wind is horrible, in Fuengirola, and here in Almería too. but, the positive thing is that you had very good meals, and a super breakfast!
I wish you a very nice Thursday, and send big hugs,
    Caty
