Good morning lovely people,
It's T-Day again! I will be sharing something to do with a drink later on.
But first, here is my postcard. I received it this week from Hongkong.
It is beautiful and shows the process of making porcelain out of clay in ancient China. The stamps are also beautiful:
Can you see them clearly? I hope they enlarge sufficiently to see. The one on the right reads : Kitchen ware street. A you can see the card was bought at the museum of tea ware! Very appropriate for T-Day I would say!
Some of you might know that now I'm retired I like to play online computer games. My hubby and I both play Elvenar, and I alone also play Forge Of Empire, a city building game that is based on the course of history. Every phase in the game is an era of history. I am playing in the late middle ages at the moment. Every now and then they do special quests about famous people throughout history. Last month it was Ghandi and now it is Rosa Parks:
This is what I found on the internet about her:
By refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a Montgomery, Alabama, city bus in 1955, black seamstress Rosa Parks (1913—2005) helped initiate the civil rights movement in the United States. The leaders of the local black community organized a bus boycott that began the day Parks was convicted of violating the segregation laws. Led by a young Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the boycott lasted more than a year—during which Parks not coincidentally lost her job—and ended only when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that bus segregation was unconstitutional. Over the next half-century, Parks became a nationally recognized symbol of dignity and strength in the struggle to end entrenched racial segregation.
I was only 4 year old at the time, so I don't remember, but I have Heard about her. It must have taken courage in those days to do that. What a lady!
My postcard could qualify me for T-Day but I would like to share a few images with you which I found:
There's a whole set of these apparently:
Plus a tea pot:
I'm afraid I will be out until late tonight so comments will be as from tomorrow.
Happy T-Day all!
Blessings,
Lisca

Wow. Not only is that a beautiful postcard but those are also beautiful tea cups. Your week sounds like it has had some beauty in it with those items (even if it is just finding them on internet. Rosa Parks is certainly an American hero. I am glad the gamer writers thought of her as she really is a quiet hero. Have a wonderful rest of your week and T day Lisca. Hugs-Erika
That tea set! So cute. I can see it as perfect for a lady day tea party :) Perfect for our T day here. Happy T Tuesday
what a marvellous woman rosa parks was and i love those funny women teacups
Rosa Parks was a real leader, and she did it peacefully and didn't scream and shout and become over dramatic. I really admire her and what she concurred.
Those tea cups and tea pot are a hoot!!!!
Gorgeous post card, front and back.
Happy T-day Lisca!

I apologize for being late. I have been really, really sick since late last night and can’t seem to stay off the toilet. Hope that’s not too personal. At least I know it was from something I made myself.
Your postcard is beautiful. What an amazing process that clay to porcelain process that must be.
Although I was not born at that time, I am still very impressed with Rosa Parks for the way she stood up for her rights as a citizen of this country, MY country. She was so successful in the boycott of buses in Al that she deserved the national recognition she eventually received.
OH WOW. Those tea cups, spoons, and tea pot are fabulous. Thanks for sharing these beauties with us for T this Tuesday.
Its a wonderful postcard and the stamps looked lovely.
My eyes were drawn to that tea set and teapot, I can just imagine the smiles on friends faces if I served them tea from those cups. It is a great fun set.
Happy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
The stamps and postcard are beautiful, Lisca. I wonder how much the postage was - all the way from Hong Kong. I remember the tumult of the 50s in the U.S. No one could have imagined the impact Rosa Parks would have. She was very brave and selfless indeed.
The tea set is hilarious. I can imagine how people would react when handed a cup of tea!
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
