A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 1 August 2017 - T for reading

Hello lovely people,

Today is the first of August! How time flies! Today I am joining Elizabeth and Bluebeard for the T Party at T for Tuesday and tomorrow (if I remember) there will be Second on the Second also hosted by Elizabeth where we post an old blogpost for the second time on the second of the month.

I'm not at home at the moment. We are away for just two days. It does mean I have no postcards with me and I have no photos as I don't know how to transfer them onto my tablet (It's a Samsung and has no USB connection). So this will be a short post.

For the T-party I need something drink related and I'd like to show you a few more funny and/or beautiful mugs/cups:
Reading and drinking tea go so well together, this depicts me really. I love reading and I get through quite a lot of books.
So this drawing (wish I could draw like that) is also appropriate for me.

What have I been reading? I've just finished a book called Breakthrough by Michael Grumley,

A science fiction thriller set in a near future where we can understand the language of the dolphins with the aid of a computer progamme. The dolphins are asked to help find a small submergible that had sunken to the bottom of the ocean.
I thouroughly enjoyed it, but it is scientifically not at all correct and it is a story which has to be taken with a pinch of salt.  (especially if you are a scientist like me). But it's a good yarn and an exciting story.

I have received lots of postcards lately, so next week I will show more than one.

In the meantime, happy T-Day everyone!

Have a lovely week and stay safe,
Lisca

  2. Glad you found time to get away, but even happier that you were able to join us for T this week.

Those cups are wonderful. Books and drinks often go together, so I was really impressed to see these. They are different and quite unique.

I am also a scientist, so if the science information was incorrect, I would probably not enjoy Breakthrough. Glad you did, and glad you warned me before I sought it out at my library.

Thanks for sharing your cups filled with books and the book review with us for T this Tuesday.

  9. Thanks for the book suggestion. I'm not familiar with that author, and I'll be on the lookout for him.

  10. The tea cup drawings you found for this post are delightful, Lisca. I especially like the cup filled with books. The reversal of proportions really grabs one's attention. Enjoy your two-day getaway.

    Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen
