Hello lovely girls,
It's the beginning of a new month and hopefully a warmer one than last month.
I have a lovely postcard for you:
It features an old fashioned sight: washing hanging out to dry in the wind. The card comes from the Netherlands and was sent by Marleen who wrote that she had got the card at a book presentation of a book called Gouden Jaren (Golden Years) by Annegreet van Bergen.
In the speech bubbles in the photo below are some quotes from the book: "In 1965 we had to go to the neighbours to make a phone call" and "In 1952 I shared a vacuum cleaner with my mother-in-law" and "In 1960 one in every three Dutchmen had false teeth".
The book is about how our lives have changed since the 50s and 60s. Comments at the bottom of the card: "Ice flowers on the windows, the coal stove and the preserving jars, a riot of memories!"
It really resonated with me and the memories of my childhood. I looked on the Internet to see if it was still available. Yes, it was, so I've ordered it and now I am enjoying it myself. Well, thank you Marleen for this excellent suggestion.

It's so interesting to see your postcard and the photos of those 2 little girls on the cover of the book. Life has certainly changed, hasn't it? And nice plant. I bet that will be a great addition to your home. Hope your have a super T day and week ahead. hugs-Erika
Cute card indeed and yes. Grandma and I ... oh! There was a plant across the street.
You never knew when... only when you got your "freshly" washed clothes back inside... they´d made plum-jam. Wash again!
Thank you for the memories, happy T-Day!
(Usually they made noodles and stuff, they still exist, maybe you know them, Sonnen-Bassermann... they called themselves "Sonne", sun, and my.... I worked there. Phew!)
That postcard is adorable. I also love to hang my clothes on my clothesline in summer.
So glad you were able to get that book after receiving that postcard. It brought back some memories for me, too, but mine are a bit newer. I remember when we had NO cell phones and the phones were attached to a wall or outlet on the baseboard. I remember in the 1980s when computers were huge and had next to no memory. No icons, no images, just words and basic spreadsheets from a floppy disk.
Love the tulip postage stamp.
What a beautiful new plant. It reminds me of a palm. Loved seeing Ronnie. He is such a handsome boy and not a bit camera shy.
Enjoyed your cute T day contribution. It is adorable. Thanks for sharing your postcard, new plant, Ronnie, and T Tuesday contribution with us for T this week, dear Lisca. Sorry I am so late visiting and posting this week
