A Postcard A Day - Friday 18 April 2025 - Friday Smiles

 Hello lovely peeps,

It's Good Friday today so lets show you a card with an Easter theme:

It comes from Yegor, who is eleven years old and has written the card himself. Pretty amazing considering he lives in Russia where they use a Cyrillic alphabet . Well done Yegor! He also wishes that Easter be special and beautiful.
There is a little note from his teacher Olga explaining that their project is to write season greetings. I love it!

The stamps are gorgeous:

The one on the left is a rhododendron, and the other one is a campanula bononiensis (photo Wikipedia):

What have my smiles been this week? Nothing and everything. It's still very cold. I woke up to this yesterday:

And I had to light the stove again (And that makes me smile as I love to be warm).

Last Saturday I went to the big shopping mall in Granada and bought a pair of Levi jeans. Ronnie found the discarded bag and tried to crawl into it (as cats do). He didn't quite fit, but it made me smile:

(Please excuse the untidy bedroom)

I went to the fishmonger again this week (in Spain everyone eats fish this week as it's Holy Week) and again was bowled over by the abundance of lovely fish:

There was a big slab of tuna (the red bit) and the fishes underneath and next to that are salmon.

And it's worth a smile as the mouth waters.

I'm getting ready for my trip. I hope all my clothes fit in my carry-on case....

I'm going to link with Annie at A Stitch In Time, and in the meantime there are some funnies below.

Have a lovely weekend and a blessed Easter (if you celebrate it),
Lisca

One of the best things about cats (or dogs) is that they make you smile and laugh. That's funny how he tried to get into that shopping bag. And that is a really lovely postcard too. It's great that his teacher has them reaching out to others. Have a wonderful trip and a happy Easter too. hugs-Erika

What a wonderful card! Also as many are mad at "the Russians". There are nor "the Russians"!
When I was a kid I sent a helium-balloon to East Germany with my data, also a school project.
To good teachers!
Brrrr, to your temps. 8C here. Cloudy. Of course, we are on holiday. Weather has to be crappy.
Ronnie!!! So cute!
LOL. My Mom once cheated on Dad and I. We both don´t like fish. She "sold" us tuna as "normal" steak. And it was yummy!
Thank you for the memory - she laughed her head off afterwards!
LOL on Calvin and Klein. "Back to the Future"! And yes.Soccer...
Have a wonderful Easter and holiday!

Brrrrr that looks cold. It’s colder here this week but not that cold thankfully. Ronnie made me smile too as did your funnies.
Hugs,

Sorry I'm a bit late, been walking dogs and then went to the hairdressers. It was nice here up until an hour ago and now it's windy again. Love the postcard and the stamps. Russian people are very nice apart from one in particular who is making everyone's life difficult. Well done Ronnie, you fit just perfectly in there. You asked about the tree in my garden but other than it's a pine I'm not sure of it's exact name. It arrived in a pot with some other plants and was originally quite small. My mother was going to throw it out when it started getting too big for the pot so I put it in the garden but never managed to straighten it and it just kept growing. I showed you one of ther bracket fungi by another member of the club as I haven't really quite finished mine. I must show you what I've been up to next week, I am loving the club everyone is so nice and helpful. Good luck for the weather next week. Happy Easter, Angela xXx
