A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 24 July 2018 - T for sangria and pasta

Hello lovely people,
It's already the 24th of July! How time flies.
I have received some postcards this week so I will show you one that arrived and one that I have sent myself.
The one I received came from Croatia. It was sent to me by Erika who is from the Czech Republic but is working in Croatie during the summer.

She used a beautiful stamp with corals on it:
The second card is the one I sent. People often ask for typical national dishes or drinks. Well, in Spain, Sangria springs to mind.

It is made of red wine, fruit and a dash of brandy. I don't drink it myself as a lot of places use the cheapest wine and make it taste horrible or add sugar, in which case it becomes impossibly sweet.

I would like to show you some photos taken  not long ago when my sister and her hubby were visiting us. We went for a walk as sis has to do her 10.000 steps. Here is our house from a distance: the white building.
You can clearly see it is built over 4 floors. The top floor is at street level of the centre of the village. At the moment we are living in the ground floor flat where it is much cooler as part of it is built in the rock.

We do not live near the coast (nearest beach one and a half hours drive) but there is a beautiful lake on our doorstep so to speak and we took our visitors there. (My hubby and I are on the left).

I've just realized that the sangria photo would qualify for the T-party hosted by Elizabeth and Bluebeard at Altered Book Lover. But I had already prepared a photo of our meal yesterday.

I made Pasta In Bianco at my hubby's request. It is cooked pasta with lots of freshly grated Parmesan or Grana Padana cheese, and a generous dollop of butter. Yum! I poured myself a cool glass of Portughese white wine, so be my guest!

Have a lovely T-Day y'all,
Hugs,
Lisca

Oh, your meal looks yummy; my hubby loves pasta. Now, your home looks fabulous! Wow! Thanks for sharing the photo of you, too. I always try to get my 10,000 steps, too. Happy T-Day!

I've always loved your home, and moving to the ground floor is the perfect way to conserve the heat that builds up at higher levels.

I love that type of pasta, too. Grated parm and butter. What more do you need? For me a cup of coffee and for you a glass of wine.

Thanks for sharing your postcards, your home, your sister and her new husband, and your food and wine with us for T this Tuesday.

It is cool to see you actual house as you've shown us so many photos inside or on your deck over the years. I think your village is pretty also. Your meal is my daughter's favorite way to eat pasta. It looks yummy to me too. Happy T day. hugs-Erika

The postage stamp is as pretty as the postcard. I'm skeptical about sangrias too for the same reasons as you:) What a unique looking home. One I'd love to see in person! That lake is really beautiful looking and that water-mmmm. Great pasta meal on a summer day-yum!Happy T day!

It is lovely to see your home and where it is in the village, a wonderful place to live. I can understand you wanting to keep cool, we have never had it so hot here in the UK for years.
Your pasta looks delicious, maybe an idea for our meal today.
Happy T day wishes.

Hello Lisca, it looks like you are having a wonderful summer. I LOVED seeing the beautiful photos of your home set up on a hill. And, the pasta looks delicious. We're in the midst of a heat wave down here in southern California. I hope you're having a wonderful week. Pat xx

I'm intrigued by your house, Lisca because it's similar to the first house we bought in Mexico except ours was very rustic. Four stories built against the mountain. One level had a stone wall that kept it very comfortable all year long. The views were spectacular overlooking the village and lake, as I imagine yours are.

Great photo of you all. It must have been a fun visit.

Thank you for the white wine. That would be my choice over sangria any day ;-)

Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

What a lovely post Lisca! The postcards are great - love the colour of the coral!
It looks as though you took your guests on a lovely walk! I don't blame you for moving to the bottom of your house - I think we have all had it hot this year! The pasta would be perfect for me, hubby prefers his with a tomato based sauce! Belated Happy T day! Chrisx
