A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 6 June 2017 T for Holland, cows and whipped cream

Hello Folks,

I apologise for not commenting last week. My computer was doing funny things again and I was too busy to sit down and sort it out.

This week I am in Holland at my mum's. So my postcards today come from Holland. I bought some postcards on Sunday in Amsterdam. Here they are:
A Friesian cow and of course cheese:
Sorry, I have not been able to crop the card on this computer, but you get the idea.

On Sunday I travelled to Amsterdam on the train to visit my best friend's daughter. She married a Dutchman and was very happy to receive greetings from her village in Spain plus some tasty goodies I have managed to carry in my suitcase. We took the ferry from the back of the central station to the other side of the river:
The ferry is for pedestrians and bicycles and scooters. As you know the Dutch all ride bikes. There was a lady with a box on the front to carry her child in.
The child is asleep as you can see.

We sat outside as it was reasonable weather, and had a drink. My drink was Radler, a lager beer with lemon:
Isabel had Chocomel, a typical Dutch chocolate drink (very smooth and creamy) with whipped cream.
She is pregnant and indulged in appeltaart. The waitress brought it with three spoons so we could all have a bite.
We had a really lovely time. Here is lil'ol me:
Please join the T-party if you have a drink (any drink) in your blog post. Elizabeth and Bleubeard are inviting all to join.

Happy T-Day all!

Hugs,

Lisca

So glad to see you made it to Holland. I hope all is well with your mother. I enjoyed the trip across the river in Amsterdam. I am so in awe of the Dutch for riding bikes. It's something we in America don't do, possibly because our towns and cities are so spread out and we are LAZY.

Your cards are lovely and share the spirit of Holland. That cow is so cute.

I was in awe of your friend's daughter's drink. That is my kind of drink, since I'm not really into alcohol. And her apple tart looks very good, too.

Thanks for sharing your trip to Amsterdam, your postcards, and your beer and chocolate drink with us for T this Tuesday.

And that chocolate drink-very rich looking. I think I'd prefer your choice though:)

No, I didn't know that the Dutch all ride bikes, Lisca! Thanks for enlightening me. That mom must be in very good shape to handle the bike with box and young child plus packages! Nice photo of you. I'm glad you're enjoying a visit to your homeland, mum and others.

Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen

What a fun trip! That appeltaart would be hard to resist :) I'd like to use a bike for basic transportation, but I feel like I'm taking my life in my hands when I try it here.

Happy T Tuesday
