Hi folks, how are things? Have you had a good week?Have you had plenty to smile about?
My week has been full of good moments, some of which I will share here.
My postcard for today arrived from Germany a few days ago:
I love turtles and I also like black and white cards, so this one was a hit!
So, what have I been up to. I have had no end of computer problems, which I am not going to bore you with and my desk top is still not 100%, but at least it works!
Saturday I attended the second session of my course learning about Adobe Lightroom. Here is the class:
The teacher speaks very fast and I struggle to understand him. My laptop had to be reformatted and Windows 7 put on. This is now done so this coming Saturday I will be able to follow the course and see what I'm doing.
Sunday was a great day. We go to church and in the evening we have our house group. A friend invited us to lunch. She had cooked lentils:
Here is my hubby on the 'boys' table:
The lentils were lovely. She had also made a fruit salad:
Our elderly neighbour often brings us some of his produce. This week he brought a basket of broad beans (fava beans):
A lot is happening on the building front. The windows have been put in. Here is the glazier with his lorry unloading the frames:
Here is the patio door:
By now all windows and doors have been put in with the glass and the fly screens and the shutters. Hurray!
I have also bought the tiles for the whole appartment:
It has a wood grain in it and is light coloured. I think it will look neutral and very nice.
Of course I have been baking this week. The choc cake I made was a total disaster! It was so bad, we all laughed our heads off!
I had cut it in half and had placed one half on top of the other with some choc sauce in between. It just completely broke up and fell apart. The boys called it an earth quake cake. The geologist in me saw a volcano with lava flowing out. Anyway, it tasted lovely and we all had a good laugh!
Now I will finish with some funnies about mannequins:
Ok, I'm off to Annies at A Stitch in Time and I will also link up with Virginia at Rocking Your World Friday. See you there!
Have a good week,
with lots of smiles,
Hugs,
Lisca

Such a fun postcard and I'm glad your computer is up and running again, we missed you on T Day ๐. Those lentils look delicious and it looks like everyone was enjoying them - yum! Great to get the windows in and your new tiles are lovely. How kind of your neighbour to share his produce with you, those broad beans look wonderful. So funny about the chocolate cake and I was on tender hooks to hear what it tasted like - phew what a relief ... it tasted lovely! ๐. Enjoy your Lightroom class and wishing you a very happy weekend! J :-)
Hi Lisca, love your funnies this week! The turtle postcard is great too. Looks like you've had a busy week. I didn't realise you still had work to do on the house. Have a great weekend, Angela xXx
Oh Lisca you really had me chuckling this morning. I love your cheery posts. I don't do a lot of baking these days....cos I eat it if I do ๐๐๐ I know that's the point of making it but as a diabetic I really mustn't. Your last two pics are brilliant...I thought it was only the English that queued ๐๐๐
Thanks for joining in each week.
Hugs,
Annie x
What a cheery post with those postcards especially. Love the beans your neighbour brought you - I could almost taste them.
Love your tiles and the window frames.
Hugs, Neet xx
What a busy but fun week Lisca. I love the earth quake cake. That was a really clever way to cover up a baking disaster. It happens to us all. I have been wanting to bake a lot lately but hopefully I'll recover enough in another week to make something yummy. :) Good luck with your class. Hugs-Erika
the meal looks lovely but my fave would be eating those beans.....I think the cake looks delicious, big slice with cream for me please lol...

Oh another fab week, loving the postcard, I sent something recently by post and was amazed how quickly it got there, Royal Mail isn't quite what it once was. The meal your friend cooked looks lovely and how nice to prepare for so many friends and the fruit salad looks fantastic! How lovely of your neighbour to offer the beans to you, nothing finer than homegrown!
Giggled at the funnies, particularly the child and the mannequin.
I hope you have a fabulous weekend and week ahead.
Hugs
Lentijas are a great favourite here aren't they. Your friend's look very good! I smiled at the cake. I would have cut it up and hidden it under some custard, but as long as it tasted good....
I see you have lots more building going on. This is a good time to get it finished before it gets too hot to work.
I haven't quite got to grips with eating the fava beans raw like they do around here, but I can manage a few. Some of the old folk are very skilled at opening the pods and getting the beans out with one hand. I make a lot more mess doing mine! have a good week. Kate x
