A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 3 April 2017 - T for T-bone, T-cup and knitting

Hello lovely people,

Here we are again on Tuesday. I've been keeping the photos of my posh birthday lunch behind so I could share them today with you at the T-party. Elizabeth and Bluebeard host this T for Tuesday get-together at Altered Book Lover.

We went to a hotel that we had been once before for a drink and decided we would like to have a meal there:

This is obviously the photo from the brochure, but I thought I'd show you what it looked like.

This is the dining room without any diners:

We had a table by those screens (top left).

We didn't have a first course but with the wine they always give you a little something to nibble (a tapa). This was aioli (garlic sauce) with toast.

This is what hubby had as a main course. For those of you in the states this might not be impressive, but for us in Europe this is a huge steak!
Mine was a whole squid:
I must say it was lovely.
Then there was a chocolate dessert:
It was actually coffee flavoured with chocolate drizzled over the top. Really yummy!

The waiter was very nice and attentive, so all in all a very positive experience.
I hope we can go again some time.

Now, lets not forget my postcard. I am showing you a postcard that I sent myself some time ago. It is a black and white vintage type of picture:

When we were away in our campervan last week, the lamp post on the site had some thing on it:
I think it's called 'yarn bombing'. I have seen pictures but had never seen it myself. I love it!
In effect it's knitted grafitti. These are a few images I found on Pinterest:

Isn't that fun!
That's it from me today. This evening we might be able to pick up our new car (How exciting! I've never had a new car!). I'll let you know next week.

Happy T-Day y'all,
Lisca

That lunch looks yummy! Your husband's steak looks so good. I've only had fried squid (calamari) where they cut it into rings and deep fry it. Can't say I've ever seen the whole squid like that. Love how you discovered the yarn bombing. I've seen it and it is really cool. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

That was a fabulous looking hotel. I was drawn to the palm trees, of course. I liked the looks of the restaurant, too.

I am a vegetarian, but if I only had two choices (other than the garlic bread), I would have chosen that huge steak. I bet we pay about $20.00 for one that size that is uncooked in a market, so one in a restaurant would probably be about $50.00.

I'm not a fan of squid. I know lots of people like it, but it's just not for me. I'm thrilled you liked yours and I'm glad it was fixed to your liking. And the chocolate for dessert was gorgeous. I bet it tasted equally wonderful.

I really liked the lady in the postcard with her cup of tea. It's a beautiful postcard and perfect for T day, too.

So glad your lamp post got yarn bombed. I know Darla has shared several sites she has seen in her area in the past.

Thanks for sharing the yarn art, the darling tea cup postcard, and your birthday bash with wine with us for T this Tuesday. And I'll wish you happy birthday again. After all, you can't celebrate too much around your birthday.

Looks like you had a great birthday meal and I can't believe the size of the portions.

Always love to see yarn bombing and would love to try it myself-maybe I will get organised for this summer after seeing your pictures.

Have a very happy T day

Your Birthday meal looks delicious and the size of the portions on the plate looked enormous. I hope you had a very happy.
I loved the yarn graffiti, I think it would cheer up many areas and with no harm done to the structures.

Your dinner looks oh so lovely and delicious in every way dear Lisca!
You had me at chocolate ❤and your gorgeous dessert.
I am more a fan of quality than quantity when it comes to food ;-)
Sweet classic tea cup postcard!
Yarn bombing is a very cool thing.
The first time I saw it was in California and then when we returned home to the east coast of the US we came upon it in several places here too.
It makes me want to dust off my crochet hooks and get busy.
Happy T Day to you dear Lisca!

Yarn bombing! Yes! We've had some of that here, and it's a real treat to see.

The restaurant looks fancy, and that steak is plenty big enough for me. I've never had squid. The dessert looks delightful!

Happy T Tuesday :)

Wow, that meal looks fantastic, I love squid and I bet it tasted amazing - what a wonderful place to celebrate your birthday! We went to Liverpool yesterday to celebrate mine and we had the most wonderful time seeing the sights and walking in the sunshine :-) . Your vintage postcard is beautiful and the knitted grafitti made me smile! Wishing you a Happy T Day! J :-)
p.s. Thanks for your lovely comments and wishes on my blog today. In answer to your question - Although I do have a good memory when it comes to my journal pages as they are so personal, I also have a separate A4 writing book which I detail my page information in. This includes a list of materials, my inspiration and learnings from the techniques I used 🙂 . Thanks again! J x

Yes, that's a yarn bombing. I love your description, Lisca, "knitted graffiti." lol.

To people from the States, that's not a huge steak. That's humongous! I've never seen a whole cooked squid before. That's humongous too ;-) What does it taste like? I've only had calamari and thought it was like chewing rubber bands. It probably wasn't prepared right.

Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

Calamari when deep fried (rings) sometimes tastes very rubbery, and I don't like that either. As this was a quality restaurant I risked ordering squid and was not disappointed. It's not rubbery at all, it was grilled and succulent and very delicious.

Happy Birthday! Looks like you had a wonderful birthday dinner. The cake is making me drool! I've heard about yarn bombing but have never seen it in person. The green monster on the parking meter made me laugh. Happy T Day

The food looks so good!!!! and the dessert looks to die for ♥ I've seen some of those yarn bombings about before. They are entertaining. Thanks for stopping by my blog . The Ginseng seed is planted in the fall and then it take sit seven years to grow to maturity. It can be harvested sooner but the root won't be a big and it won't have started producing the berries and seeds to insure you have a continuous crop. It's a medicinal Herb that is used for a lot of different things one of the most common is increased energy and mental functions. I could use that right now :)
