A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 1 Nov 2016 - T for guests and roses

Good morning everyone! It’s Tuesday again. How that week flies!

Here in Spain the Halloween thing has wafted over from the USA and children here are also dressed up as witches and wear ghoulish mask. How awful. I know people think it is a bit of fun, but personally I don’t like it. So here we are, hiding away in our country ‘residence’, far from the maddening crowd so to speak.

I got some postcards in my letterbox this morning. And guess what, I received this card:

I got it from Lithuania, from a girl called Indri. Bang on theme!

I also got this one today:

This one is also very apt as we have changed to winter time on Sunday. This card came from Germany.

What have you all been up to? I have been very busy and have had visitors back to back. I do apologize for not commenting last week. I promise to make up for that this week and visit each one of you.

I’m going to link up with the lovely Elizabeth at AlteredBook Lover. Anything drink related is welcome. Well, here is mine…

My dear hubby got given a ‘grind and brew’ coffee machine, a combined gift from his children. A wonderful thing and it makes delicious coffee. He is so pleased with it. Last week we had Dutch friends staying with us. Here we are sampling the coffee from the new machine.

Later we took our guests to the ceramic shop, as she wanted to buy a mug for her son to take home. We took them to our favourite road side stall:

Remember I told you I’d been to a conference not long ago. I would like to share the beautiful paper flowers they had displayed in the church’s court yard as we came in to the conference.

Beautiful aren’t they?

Here is a close up:

That is it from me today.

Happy T-Day and a very good week too,

Blessings and hugs,
Lisca

Always enjoy seeing your postcards. (Stay tuned, tomorrow I am posting a picture of an old postcard) Looks like you and your company were enjoying the coffee from your new machine.

The peacock feather eyes sure are spooky!
Guess it hasn't gone unnoticed by other countries what a money maker Halloween is.
Those paper flowers certainly are spectacular.
Ceramics are one of my weaknesses.
What a lovely assortment in your photo.
Happy T Day dear Lisca oxo

Very impressive new coffee machine. Does it grind the beans, too? It looks like it makes great coffee, at least from the looks on your friends faces. And it looks like you took them to a great place to get the perfect souvenir mug.

I grew up celebrating Halloween, so it's been in my DNA since I can remember. You sound like my friend Sally who definitely doesn't share my love for it. In the US, it's the second most decorated holiday after Christmas, so I am apparently not alone. Seems more and more countries are jumping on the All Hallows Eve bandwagon.

Thanks for sharing that great time change postcard, the creepy postcard, your new coffee maker, and the mug shop with us for T this Tuesday.

Like Elizabeth, I grew up celebrating Halloween and loved it. But we just thought of it as having fun dressing up and getting candy. Now it is celebrated more as a harvest celebration in this area. Which is a better concept...I think.

Oh, how I would like to shop at that roadside ceramic shop. So many pretty things and I do love pottery of any kind.

I have made some of those paper flowers......but not quite to that scale.....they are gorgeous.....but pale in comparison to your lovely smile.

Happy T-day

The colors in the ceramics stall would pull me in.

There's less trick-or-treating here now than when I was little but more costume parties and adults dressing up. I'm glad you were able to escape the madness. Happy T Tuesday!

What fabulous postcards and (as you said) they are so on theme, the peacock feather eyes are very spooky! The paper flowers are amazing, they are so huge whilst looking so delicate at the same time. I can see why that's your favourite road side stall, the colours and patterns on the ceramics are gorgeous, I could happily spend all day looking at everything :-). Your hubby's coffee machine looks the business and he looks so very pleased - fantastic! Wishing you a Happy T Day! J :-)

They do look super the postcards, you must look forward to your post arriving. The paper flowers looked gorgeous and so did that ceramic stall. I think I would be passing by that place on a regular basis if I lived near it.
Your new coffee machine sounds interesting and it looks like you were all enjoying the results.
Happy T day

We have noticed that some items in the shops are really gruesome which to me takes the fun out of Halloween! The ceramics stall looks great! Hugs, Chrisx

Gosh! Still 'visitor~ing'!!! The end of the year will come upon you so quickly with so much going on:) I can't stand Halloween. It's got all the wrong 'connotations' to me..... I'd rather remember people in a nice church service for All Hallows or All Saints day - whichever you like to call it. That's what it SHOULD be about. Praying for our loved ones that are no longer with us. Not all that ghoulish stuff. There! I've had my say!!!! That road side stall. Gosh, looks amazing as do the flowers. They are so BIG as well:):)
