Happy New Year to all of you!
In the days in between Christmas and New Year, I went to the post office to collect my mail. Imagine my surprise when I found three postcards from Lisbon posted on the 24th of September when I was there. My friend Keren (she and her husband were with me in Lisbon) bought me the postcards and bought stamps and posted them to me so I could have them for my collection.
They all represent things we had seen with our own eyes, so a lovely memory. I'm going to show you all three. Here is the first one:
It's a blackspotted puffer fish that we saw in the aquarium of Lisbon.

A Common Seadragon, which I photographed but which is difficult to spot due to its excellent camouflage:

The third postcard was from the Gulbenkian Museum:
We went there specifically to see the Lalique exhibition. Lalique is famous for his glass art but he also made the most beautiful jewellery. The above comb is gorgeous.

And the last one shows a castle tower (can't remember what it was called)
But we sailed past it and I took this picture.

What have I been up to?
I had two chickens left. One of them wasn't doing too well and none of them was laying eggs, so I asked my cleaner, Delsis, to kill the one that wasn't doing so well and I gave the remaining one to a friend:
Skinning the poor chicken. Not much meat on her I'm afraid.
Saturday, after our Intercambio session we went to a local bar to celebrate my friend David's birthday.I had made him a pineapple upside down cake as I knew he likes those.
I took that to the bar but forgot to take photos of our drinks.
Well, here is a cafe I went to not long ago in the nearby town of Baza:
And this is what I had:
My coffee and a piece of home made carrot cake.

Pineapple upside down cake is really a great winter choice as it doesn’t need fresh fruit. You inspire me — maybe I’ll bake one.

Happy New Year Lisca! My goodness that's a long time for those postcards to arrive from Lisbon lol. The puffer fish looks so cute, and the seadragon. I actually have a seadragon rubber stamp, very detailed. Love the pineapple upside down cake! Hope your little cat is doing well too. Happy T Day!

That is really great you got those postcards. I would think you really would appreciate them. And I saw the sea dragon in your photo. They are so cool, aren't they? I read that dolphins touch puffer fish to play "ball" and get high from the "poisin" the fish gets out to defends itself.
Those trams sure do a hard job both ways...

I am in total awe of those amazing postcards from your friends. What a great way to relive your time together in Lisbon. That brooch was stunning and that hair comb was so beautifully detailed. And I loved seeing the postage stamps that also stood for places you three saw on your trip.
Sorry to read about your chickens. At least one went to a good home and hopefully will lay eggs again soon.
I am now very hungry after seeing that awesome pineapple upside down cake. I have been wanting to make one of those for over a year, and I may just have to try one that won't look nearly as good as yours. Your carrot cake isn't as tempting, but I bet it went well with your coffee. Thanks for sharing your postcards and postage stamps, as well as your pineapple upside down cake, carrot cake, and coffee with us for T this week, dear Lisca.

How lovely of your friends to mail the post cards to you. Poor chicken. Can you eat it if it was sick? I know nothing of chickens! LOL That upside down pineapple cake looked amazing! Now I am hungry. That is what happens on our t day blog hop! LOL Happy t day, late.
I'd forgotten which cards I'd sent you from Lisbon, it was over 3 months ago - I must take envelopes next time to pop postcards into so they get normal posting times!
The beautifully carved tower is in Belém (Bethlehem in Portuguese), known as Torre de Belém.
