Hello lovely girls,
It's Friday again and time to think of all those smiles this week. I got several postcards in my postbox this week and one of them was this one:
I know Halloween has been and gone and we don't celebrate it, but this card did make me smile. It was sent to me by Diana who lives in Washington state, 40 min by ferry from Seattle.
The stamps are really fun:
I have never seen the left one with the children's drawing, nor the elephants in the middle. I have seen the stamp on the right before it is from a series called Western Wear:
It consists of Cowboy Hat, Belt Buckle, Cowboy Boot with Spur, Western Shirt.
Well here in my corner of Spain, all is well. We are enjoying sunny weather again and now that my guests have left, I have been able to do all the washing (towels and bedding etc) .
We have had the Day of the Dead on the 1st of November. In the days before, people have been cleaning all the tombs and mausoleums. It was a hive of activity. Now the cemetery is full of flowers:
It's really nice walking around the place:
What you see here is one quarter of the cemetery.
I try to go for a walk with my friend every day at least an hour so that I can get my daily 10000 steps. I don't reach that target every day but this week was not bad.
This was Thursday early evening. We walked for an hour around the village.
Those of you who read my Tuesday blog will know that my little kitten has been ill, but after a visit to the vet she started medication and is now so much better She is 'flying' through the house and is literally into everything. Very playful.
Like most cats, she loves a box. The smaller, the better:
She keeps me entertained.
Talking about entertainment, I have been watching tv. For those familiar with British TV, I have seen the first episode of the new Shetland series. It's one of my favorite series. Filmed on the Shetland Isles, the scenery is amazing and the plot is chilling (It's a detective series). I'm also watching A House Through Time which is about a house and its history. Very interesting.
Those were my smiles this week, and I'm going to link up with Annie at A Stitch In Time to see all your smiles too. See you all there!
Have a lovely weekend,
Lisca

I like that postcard. It reminded me of the Wizard of Oz. Foodie friend Sally bought an entire batch of those kids postage stamps. They were adorable. I've also never seen the elephants.
Yes, those Day of the Dead photos at the cemetery are awesome.
So glad Frankie is doing so well. How sweet to see her playing in her box. Bleubeard loves boxes. Squiggles doesn't.
I loved some of your funnies, especially the first two. Not sure I would want to live in that building in the last one. Have a great Friday and weekend, dear Lisca.

I am still thinking WOW at that wall painting. It really is amazing.
I am sorry kitty has been poorly but he seems to be back on form now.
You do so well to walk 10,000 steps most days. My target is only 5,000 and I don't always manage that! Kate x
I like the western wear stamps and your Halloween photo.Vintage Halloween is my favorite, not the scary, bloody creepy new stuff. And I'm with you about trying to do 10,000 steps (or more) a day. I hope you had a nice visit with your friend, but it looks like the house won't be quiet even after she left with Frankie. What a cutie. Have a great weekend and start to the new week Lisca. hugs-Erika
The card and especially the stamps are great.
That is really a flower-overload on the cemetary. Good on you to walk so much!
Your cat is cute, and ohhh, the magic!!!
And life after death.. and now I want a pizza (they make yum ones here). Wow on the mural, have a happy rest-Friday.
I’m so glad your little fur baby is now much better. Really loved your funnies.
Hugs,
Annie x
Sorry I'm late today. I love the new stamps especially the children's drawing it's great. Pleased to see that people keep the cemetery looking nice. Well done at keeping up with your steps too. We walk the dogs every day but not sure how many steps that is maybe I should check it out. Pleased your kitty is better. The wall painting is just amazing, there are some very clever artists. Lots of smiles with your funnies too. Have a great weekend. Hugs Angela xXx
