A Postcard A Day - Friday 8 November 2024 - Friday Smiles

Hello lovely girls,
It's Friday again and time to think of all those smiles this week. I got several postcards in my postbox this week and one of them was this one:

I know Halloween has been and gone and we don't celebrate it, but this card did make me smile. It was sent to me by Diana who lives in Washington state, 40 min by ferry from Seattle.
The stamps are really fun:

I have never seen the left one with the children's drawing, nor the elephants in the middle. I have seen the stamp on the right before it is from a series called Western Wear:
It consists of Cowboy Hat, Belt Buckle, Cowboy Boot with Spur, Western Shirt.

Well here in my corner of Spain, all is well. We are enjoying sunny weather again and now that my guests have left, I have been able to do all the washing (towels and bedding etc) .

We have had the Day of the Dead on the 1st of November. In the days before, people have been cleaning all the tombs and mausoleums. It was a hive of activity. Now the cemetery is full of flowers:

It's really nice walking around the place:
What you see here is one quarter of the cemetery.

I try to go for a walk with my friend every day at least an hour so that I can get my daily 10000 steps. I don't reach that target every day but this week was not bad.

This was Thursday early evening. We walked for an hour around the village.

Those of you who read my Tuesday blog will know that my little kitten has been ill, but after a visit to the vet she started medication and is now so much better She is 'flying' through the house and is literally into everything. Very playful.

Like most cats, she loves a box. The smaller, the better:

She keeps me entertained.
Talking about entertainment, I have been watching tv. For those familiar with British TV, I have seen the first episode of the new Shetland series. It's one of my favorite series. Filmed on the Shetland Isles, the scenery is amazing and the plot is chilling (It's a detective series). I'm also watching A House Through Time which is about a house and its history. Very interesting.

Those were my smiles this week, and I'm going to link up with Annie at A Stitch In Time to see all your smiles too. See you all there!

Have a lovely weekend,

Lisca
