Hello lovely peeps,
Here we are again at the end of the week. I am still in the Netherlands. My sister is leaving today and I will spend the weekend with my friend before moving on tho Italy.
Let me show you my postcard for today:
It features Mount Hua.
Mount Huasan, as it is also called, is located in Shaanxi, 75 miles away from Xian. With an elevation of 7,070 feet, it is the tallest of the five sacred mountains of China.
The Mount Hua plank walk is an adrenaline-producing, thrilling journey across the mountain that takes adventure lovers for what may be the longest walk of their lives.
Though technically not long, the trek to complete this 330-foot section of the Mount Hua trail requires approximately six hours of “holding on for dear life.”
The postcard was sent to me by ZhongHe. He writes:
The stamps are impressive:
The stamp on the left says: Dai architecture, well.
The stamp on the right shows bamboo.
As I said at the beginning, I'm still in the Netherlands. My sister and I are here to celebrate my mum's 100th birthday. She died in September, but she was already planning a get-together for her 100th, so we decided we'd do it anyway (without her).
We rented a B&B outside Rotterdam:
A pretty little cottage at the bottom of someone's long garden. It's really pretty and has absolutely everything we need. The beds are super comfy and the shower is first class.
It has been really cold (15 degrees C) but my sister insisted on having her coffee outside:
One of the attractions of this place was that we could borrow bicycles. On the second day we got the bikes and went for a long cycle trip to a campsite where my cousin Bert and his family were staying.
We also checked out the venue of where we would be having our family get-together. Very nice, right on the water:
Then we cycled to the neighbourhood that my mum used to live and we met up with our cousin Margit at a cafe opposite mum's apartment building. From there back to our cottage.
The next day sis and I went shopping as I needed a new bra and in the evening we got the bikes out again and went out for dinner:
We shared a pizza and a salad.
I'm going to link up with Annie at A Stitch In Time, where we share the smiles of this week and all the positive things.
And of course if we want to mention smiles, I will say that I have added some funnies at the end. Some of them are bound to make you smile.
Have a great weekend,
Keep smiling,
Lisca

Wh9at a unique postcard. You would NEVER get me to go on that trail, since I have no pinch grip and I'm afraid of heights. The sta,[s are impressive, though.
Looks like you and your sister had some quality time together while celebrating your mom's b'day. Those raised beds caught my eye and my attention. I laughed at how bundled you were on those rides and your sister seemed not to mind the weather.
Your pizza and salad look good. Now I'm hungry for pizza!
Loved the funnies. That first one was hilarious. I was trying to explain to someone I had a friend in Austria and she kept saying Australia. Guess people DO get them mixed up. Have a super rest of Friday and a great weekend. See you on Tuesday, Lisca.
Goodness. I need to learn to review my comment before I publish. It should read the STAMPS are impressive.
I read your question. They do NOT make children's programs at that studio. They BUY the programs they show. One of their four channels is devoted to children. It's called PBS Kids. The Discovery Center encourages children to come out for a day of discovery and fun. They have trikes and other goodies I didn't show because the children were playing with or on them. At least one parent or appointed guardian must attend with their children. I suspect you saw some adults in the background. Thanks for asking.
How lovely to celebrate your mums birthday in her absence…she would have loved that. Love the funnies…they really had me chuckling.
Hugs,
Annie x
It sounds as though you are enjoying your time in Netherlands, even if the occasion is tinged with a little sadness. Hopefully Italy will just as much fun.
The China wall walk is definitely not for me!

Hi Lisca, looks like another good week for you. I saw something on TV this week that someone was saying how difficult it is to get postcards now, I think in this country it's probably to do with the cost of posting them which is a great shame as the one's we used to get at the seaside were so much fun. I think the artwork done by cleaning the wall is brilliant. Have a good weekend too. Hugs Angela xXx
One of our most wonderful visits to the Netherlands included renting bikes and visiting the Keukenhof gardens in tulip season! Your images reminded me of that.
It’s wonderful that you are celebrating your mother’s life this way. I hope she is smiling down on you and your friends and family.
