WOYWW 329 Happy mail and village bakery

Hi Peeps, It's Wednesday again! Comes round so fast! Today I can look over everyone's shoulder and look at their desk to see what the are up to (or not). The lovely Julia hosts this blog hop and here you can read all about it.

Now I'll let you look over my shoulder and look at the scene on my desk.
This was late last night, as this morning there is nothing. I've packed my stuff as we are going to spend more than a week at 'home'. (not here on the building site). DD plus one grandson are coming to stay. So fun days ahead. The photo, blue bubble and Kraft paper are a lay out I'm making of said daughter and grandson.

Below is the happy mail I received from the USA.

A blog friend called Krisha wanted to get rid of some small stamps and didn't mind sending them across the 'pond'. Wow! She sent me about 26! plus a few die cuts and cardboard shapes. How cool is that! That is so kind of her. They are all small, perfect for ATCs and perhaps card making. I'm thrilled as I don't have many stamps.

I've packed most things I need for the coming week. All I need to do now is pop round to the baker and get some bread.
I took some photos earlier in the week as I always include some pictures of 'life in Spain'.
This is baker Pilar's daughter (can't remember her name) putting my bread in the bag. The basket in the foreground is the typical woven basket (locally made) they use here for everything. Mostly they are round and made from some sort of plant stalk.
I also asked for a square of pizza as DH likes that as a snack. There is a banner on the shelf saying that Pilar makes the best donuts in the world!
I tore myself away from all those lovely smells and took a picture of the outside. The power cable is hanging loose as they are working on the building next door. 'Pan' means 'bread'. And 'dulces' are 'sweet things'. Silnia is the name of the shop.

Lastly a photo I found on a FB page advertising cave houses for rent in our area. It is a beautiful photo and it is where I live. I never tire of this!
If you want to see what a cave house looks like, have a look at the photos. Here is the link to the Facebook page.

That's it for today. Have a good week and see you soon.

Blessings,

Lisca

  7. Hello Lisca. I peeped at the link - and oh my word - some of those places are unbelievable. How is your own house coming on? Trust it won't be too long before you are properly moved in... Have a great time with your family. Love the look of all those stamps!
Thanks for visiting - yes, I'm really pleased with the cards - the greetings come from a company here in Britain www.circadesign.co.uk They do a great selection - some really lovely Christian specific ones.
    Take care. God bless.

  9. Those cave houses are beautiful, I have seen one once on tv over here on a programme where they take people around to look at houses abroad. I bet they are nice and cool but do you get lots of creepy crawlies in them?
I am missing your sunshine already - in fact was missing it as soon as I boarded the plane on Saturday, so want to go back as I got my teabags this time but now am hooked on a rather cheap cava. Must take a hard shell suitcase next time and bring some back (already looked on the internet and in the supermarket but no sign of that particular one).
Lovely clean bakery and the bread looks delicious.
Enjoy your happy mail and your visitors.

  14. Bread and sweets, you can't go wrong with that. I sometimes shop in the Mexican grocery store down the street from where I work so I know what dulce and pan are! Hubby likes to eat their candies because they always find a way to chili or chamoy into them. Great mail you've received! Judy #48

  22. I enjoyed your post today, Lisca. How wonderful to get those goodies to play with from your blog friend. The bakery pictures made me hungry. I can imagine the smell of freshly baked bread! I also took a look at the cave houses in the link. I have been to Cappadocia so I imagine it is similar to those. So interesting! Next time, I want to stay in a cave hotel.

  25. Your posts are always interesting and fun. I apologize for not always commenting, I get your email updates and just seems time gets away from me. Love your regional photos and a bakery around here is rare. I love the old fashioned kolaches, danish, but hard to find. Seems over the pond bakeries were in every other block and yummy.
If there are any American stamps you are interested in let me know I've lots to pick from and been watching for unique post cards so some time email me your address . Spending time watching videos on my new sewing machine and realizing I am OLD. Have a fun week

  27. What a great post, Lisca, and such gorgeous photos! I remember that bread when we visited Spain - I could have eaten it all day, it was so delicious. Thank you for your lovely comment, and I'm so glad you like my recent projects. I'm exhausted after all that lot because I've been very busy this week (final week of this chemo cycle). I am delighted that the oncologist is reducing the dose and I really hope I shall notice a difference in how I feel next week. Thanks for your kind words!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  28. How exciting to get such a nice gift in the mail! She sent a nice variety! I recognize some of those cardboard die cuts; they work well with ATC's and tags. I wish hours of fun with them. Love the pics of the bakery. I remember when I first got to Germany how fascinated I was that bread was never bagged but just put in shopping bags. thank you for the visit earlier.
