Hello lovely ladies!
Here we are again on a Friday to share our silver linings so to speak. Annie at A Stitch In Time is our host, so come and join us with some smiles.
I have been ill for a while and my big smile is that I'm getting better. I have been out to the market on Tuesday, (the first time i have been out in weeks), my cough is much less and I feel I have turned a corner. Big smile!
The other thing that usually makes me smile are the postcards that arrive in my postbox. Here is one from the Czeck Republik:
It features women in traditional goat's coats from Kunovic. The stamp is wonderful. It features a plane. I looked it up (as you do...). Wikipedia tells me: The Lockheed Model 10 Electra is an American twin-engined, all-metal monoplane airliner developed by the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in the 1930s to compete with the Boeing 247 and Douglas DC-2. The type gained considerable fame as one was flown by Amelia Earhart on her ill-fated around-the-world expedition in 1937.
The second card comes from Finland, and is an answer to my requests for windows and doors. This one looks a bit overgrown, but perhaps it is a back door.
It was sent to me by Eila, who is a 52 yr old nurse. She says the best thing about Finland is nature.
The stamps are lovely. Look at that calla. I hope mine will flower soon. The one on the left features long-tailed ducks (clangula hyemalis).
I have not much else to mention as I have not been anywhere. The corona virus still seems to be the hype everywhere. How are things where you are?
I'm not too worried. We live in the north of the Granada province and according to the Andalucian ministery of health (Andalucia is an independent region), there are no cases of the virus in our province, yet. (the map is from Wednesday's paper). Our bit of coastline is not very touristy and it is early in the season.
I am disappointed that our Danish friends, who were going to come next week, have cancelled their holiday. We don't get many visitors and this year several people have promised to come, and I get really excited about that. So it is a disappointment when people have to cancel.
Finally I want to show you what we had for dinner today (it's still Thursday):
A devilled cottage pie. The 'devilled' bit means it is spicy. It was yummy and we only ate half of it as I always cook too much. The rest goes in the freezer for a day when I don't fancy cooking (or have no time).
That is my part done dear ladies. Please follow me to Annie's and Virginia's. They also have some smiles for you. (I have some smiles at the end as per usual).
Please leave a comment. It's so nice when people say hello.
I'll say goodbye for now. Have a lovely weekend,
Take care, and....
Keep smiling!
Hugs,
Lisca
There are some golf funnies,
And funnies about clothes hangers (!),
and Halloween (yes, I know it's early)...

Hi Lisca, pleased to hear you're getting better. Loving your cards and stamps. Loving the funnies too. Take care and keep smiling, Angela xXx
So pleased to hear you're feeling better. So many bugs aboutat this time of year...and now coronavivus on top of it all. We are doing our best to continue as nonmal but have changed our minds about going away in the van this weekend just in case.
I have reposted my blog and reloaded the missing photos....it seems to be ok now. I think there's a gremlin in the works cos I couldn't see them on my Ipad but they were all there on my laptop!!
Hugs,
Annie x
Ah I'm just putting my post together but haven't got the details for Mr Linky so will have to head down to main computer to finish it off. Your postcards are lovely, I'm glad you have turned a corner on your cough, I've developed one but more of that in my post. Love the postcards and stamps as always. I hope you have a grand weekend and week ahead.
Hello! glad to hear your feeling better ~ they're canceling events and closing the schools Monday in VA to decide what to do next. Thank you for the giggle post ~ I was needing to lighten the mood around here. ~ Enjoy your weekend!
Hi Lisca, just popped back to answer your questions. The first card was the one I made with the wellies on the front. I am sure that I will use this technique again maybe with one of my Masterboards. You also asked about the skiing, now what can I say? the post was scheduled for today, Maisie and Stan are in the kennels not on hubbies knee and I have just re-packed some cases so you can probably work that one out! I'm sorry your friends have decided not to visit. We were going to visit our friends in France again in July at Annecy which is a gorgeous place but now we're not sure and I have my elderly parents to consider who are in their nineties, it would be awful if we passed something nasty on to them. Take care and big hugs, Angela xxx
Hi Lisca, thanks for your posts. I enjoy reading them every week.we are in Nerja at the moment,as you know it's a lovely town on the Costa del Sol. we had booked to come to Granada ,I've always wanted to see the Alhambra, but we were advised to keep away from large crowds. We are enjoying Nerja but sad to see so many closed or half empty cafes. Keep well Jennyx xx
Well you seem to have avoided the close downs so far but believe me, they will come. We had no idea a couple of days ago.
My son in Denmark has just this minute messaged me that Denmark has closed its borders, so it is just as well your friend didn't come earlier or she may not have got back home very easily.
As usual your cooking looks yummy and your funnies were just that - Funny!
I am glad you are feeling better now. I hope you continue to improve this week. Kate x
