A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 8 August 2017 - T for Norwegian doors, lamb shank and a Russian tzar

Good morning. Here is your first cuppa! The words on the cup say: Good day.
The text above it translates as: Don't complicate life,
Enjoy, Don't complain, learn, Don't get annoyed with yourself and SMILE.

Well, I'll gladly do that. (All of the above)

Here is a postard I received this week:
The mining town of Röros in Norway is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Röros is also famous for the autor Johan Falkberget (1879-1967) No I hadn't Heard of him either.
It's also famous for the awesome Winter market taking place at the end of February each year.
This is the stamp,
The stamp is the Royal Palace in Oslo.

I love all those old doors, don't you?
The other card I received this week is an image of the last Russian emperor.
Not a bad looking Young man....
But the stamps are really awesome:

The are triangular in shape and represent Russian hand crafted shawls. The one on the right is Russian lace. Beautiful.

Last week, the restaurant that we normally go to was closed for the holidays. So we went across the highway to another restaurant, where we also know the couple that run it.
It's called the Tres Sierras. Here is the dining room:

And we sat here by the window:

They have a new chef and the menú looked impressive. We were not disappointed. This was my first course: (Brie cheese, fried)

That was the starter. The first course was Salmorejo (a cold soup) and the main was lamb shank. It is my favorite way of cooking lamb. Slooow cooked and succulent. Yumm!
A nice drop of red wine and I was a very happy bunny!

Today is T for Tuesday where Elizabeth and Bluebeard host any blogpost with a drink in it.

This is it for today. Sorry for being so late. I just got up late this morning and everything shifts.
We have market in our village on Tuesday mornings and they have to be off the streets by 1pm, so most of them start packing up at 12:30. So if I hurry up and get my but under the shower, I still have two hours to wander along the stalls. We are hosting a BBQ this Sunday and I am going to buy olives, pickles and salamis and perhaps some cheese.

Have a good week all,
Happy T-Day,

  1. Hi Lisca, happy T day. Love the postcards and beautiful stamps you received. Your meal looks sooooooooooooooooo good, yummy, it would have made me a happy bunny, too. Have fun shopping at the market and cooking for the BBQ. Hugs, Valerie

  2. This weeks postcards look wonderful, I liked the stamps as well.
Your meal looked delicious, somethin I think I would have ordered as well, we love slow cooked lamb.
Hope you get to the market for the items on your shopping list.
    Happy T day.
    Yvonne xx

  3. Buenas dias! The dining room of the restaurant and those views look amazing, what a beautiful place to enjoy the delicious meal, lamb cooked anyway is perfect - yum! Your postcards are lovely, I love doors too and you received such wonderful postage stamps too :-) . Hope you got everything you needed from the market this morning and wishing you a Happy T Day! J :-)
p.s. Thanks for your lovely comments on last Friday's post and the street art, I'll be sure to alert you when I post more :-) . Also I don't think you have seen my Urban Street Art post which is about some new art in our town here in St. Annes, if you are interested here's the link:
    Thanks J x

  4. You receive the neatest postcards-the russian lace made me smile as last year I purchased a russian supported spindle that was handmade-it is gorgeous and is designed to spin the fine lace--I have not mastered it yet.
the food looks soooo delicious and what a lovely view for dining
    Happy T Day Kathy

  5. aah, i´d love to see all These doors in Person! must be a gorgeous town, never heard of it.
your meal is mouth watering... happy t-day!

  6. Wow, both postcards were fabulous. The Russian Emperor was great, but the beautiful stamps were even better. I know you would never remove them from the postcards, so they would never make it in art. BTW, the larger and thicker envelopes like Chris sent me had to be hand stamped because the dies wouldn't have made the curve around the bend in order to be stamped.

I loved the doors. They were all so different and unique. I've never heard of Röros, but my spell checker added the umlaut above the O. Wonderful postcard!

Your "new" place to eat looks great, and I suspect the food tasted a lot better to you than it would to this vegetarian. It sure looked great, though. And I know wine makes you happy, too. Thanks for sharing these postcards, your new restaurant, the food, and the wine with us for T this Tuesday. Hope you make it to the market in time and get everything on your list.

  7. Wonderful postcards and stamps and such yummie things to eat !
    Enjoy your BBQ!
    Happy T-Day!

  8. I think your meal looks yummy Lisca but even better (to me) was the view while you ate. Wow. It is very different from here where I live. :) Great postcards too. Hope all else is well. Hugs-Erika

  9. Ok...my tummy is growling now. The postcards are great...esp the Norwegian one.
    Happy T day!

  10. The postcards and stamps are beautiful. I spent quite a bit of time looking at each door and then the pattern on the shawl stamps. Lunch looks delightful.

  11. I love your postcards. Such a variety!

A seat by the window in that restaurant looks delightful. What a view! And it looks like the food lives up to the standard the setting would lead you to expect.

    Happy T Tuesday :)

  12. I'm with you Lisca. Yes to all of the above. That's a wise saying. Love the doors postcard - what a lovely collection and arrangment.

Your meal, the setting and the view look like a wonderful way to relax over dinner.

    Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen

  13. Thanks for the warm welcome back Lisca.
What a wonderful place to have lunch and that lunch looks so yummy. I would love to try the fried cheese and wine.....(smile)
    Happy T-day

  14. What lovely postcards! I love slow cooked lamb and the restaurant looks to be in a lovely area! Belated Happy T day! Chrisx

  15. Love those postcards!!! The Russian stamps are really cool too. That looks like a great restaurant and the food sound yummy! Dad is doing better but they did tell him he would be on oxygen for life. He was not a happy camper over that. :(
