WOYWW 334 - a bit of this and a bit of that

Good morning desk hoppers! It's already Wednesday and it's time to share what our desks look like. Come and join me at Julia's Stamping Ground

Last night I cleaned my desk, as in properly cleaned after taking everything off! Empty it was until I came back from embroidery group and left my work lying there. So this is what it still looks like this morning:
The embroidery is a huge table cloth I'm doing for my mum.
Also on my desk, behind the embroidery is a print-out of a recipe for cinnamon bagels from Sally's Baking Addiction

My laptop is already on, as I've checked e-mails. The poor thing is on it's last legs (the laptop). I have no more memory left which causes problems. I tried a cloud storage, but our internet speed is so low after uploading for more than 24 hours I had done less than 5%. It would take me 20 days continuously uploading! So I have cancelled that. Can anyone recommend a reliable external back up?

Since the birthday card for my grandson I have not done any crafting.
But I go to art classes on Wednesday evening and I've been doing some drawing:

As a beginner I only get to copy for now and this is what I did last week:

So I'm sorry there isn't much going on on my desk. Perhaps next week I'll have more to show.

Have a great week all of you,

Blessings,

Lisca

  1. You may not have much on your desk, but your drawing is great! I need to sort an external hard drive for my computer too, still done nothing about that! Helen 3

  7. Your embroidery is lovely - it will take a long while to finish a whole table cloth! I would probably flake out after doing the first motif, LOL. Great that you are taking art classes - must be so exciting! Your drawing is truly wonderful and looks just like your reference! You could back up your files on an external drive, they're not so expensive these days. Have a great week! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #22

    1. Yes, it will take ages to finish. My mum is in her 90s so she might never see it finished. Luckily I haven't told her I'm doing it (and she doesn't read my blog).

  9. The tablecloth is amazing, Lisca - well done. And as for the copying!!! It's amazing. Are you really sure you are a beginner? As for your computer - we have bought ourselves an external hard drive - they are not particularly cheap - but we find it really useful - as do our children for they have one now that our grandies use the computer so much for homework etc.
    Take care. God bless.

    1. Which hard drive did you buy? Can you recommend it?

    2. Yes, I am a total beginner. To copy he made me draw a grid and that made it much easier. I did this in one evening. I still struggle to get the shading right, but as a first project I should be content.

  10. Hi Lisca, I'm very much in awe of your drawing skills, its wonderful. I love the colours and design for your tablecloth too. I will say hello to Doug for you when he gets up, and regarding your storage I know he will advise buying an external hard drive, and moving all your important stuff like photos onto it.He is very into tech, and is always fixing computers for friends, relatives and work colleagues, and hard drive failure is a nightmare, as it often means the loss of irreplaceable photos. Have a good week, hugs, Shaz #10 xx

  12. Your crafting may not always take place on your desk at home but it's still brilliant to see what you're up to and the drawing is super. Shaz is right, your best bet would be an external hard drive that way if the laptop does die you still have the important things saved ready for the NEW! laptop. Hope you have a great week and happy woyww, Angela x 14.

  13. Your mum will love the tablecloth.

You could get more memory added to your laptop, but it depends on it's age whether it is worth it.

    Love the drawing.

thanks for stopping by my blog.

  23. Oooh... 'art class'... dát is lang geleden, dat zou ik ook welweer eens willen... vooral met een model. Maar inderdaad, van het 'kopieeren' leer je zoveel over verhoudingen en schaduw en zo, je werk ziet er goed uit! Het borduursel is/wordt ook prachtig! Bedankt voor je bezoekje aan mijn blog, geniet van het weekend Lisca, Marit #30
