A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 12 November 2024 - t for

 Hello lovely ladies,

Tuesday has crept up on me again. I'm writing this on Monday and that is a busy day. I'm going to Pilates again, and I thought I'd go food shopping while I was in town, but I forgot my phone (and I need my phone to pay for the shopping), so I drove back to get my phone and then back again to do the shopping.

Then this afternoon my friend Antonia wanted to go for a walk and we did (photos later on), so I'm rather tired.

Let me show you the postcard I received this week:
As you can see it comes from Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
For my non-European friends: this is Croatia. It has the most spectacular coastline snd tourism is an important industry.
This is what I found on the Internet:

Capital: Zagreb

Official EU language(s): Croatian

EU Member State: since 1 July 2013

Currency: euro (€) Euro area member since 1 January 2023

Schengen: member since 1 January 2023

Figures:

  • Geographical size: 56 594 km2
  • Population: 3 861 967 (2024)

On this map you can locate Zagreb. I have visited Zagreb in 1971. I assume it has changed a lot.

The stamp is beautiful:
It features the Blue Cave (Modra Spilja in Croatian).
With its startling blue light and luminescent waters, it's easy to see how the Bisevo Blue Cave (Modra Spilja) earned its name. The natural wonder is hidden in the sea cliffs along the coast of Bisevo Island and is made even more enticing by its remote, difficult-to-reach location. The effort is rewarded with stunning scenery and endless photo opportunities.

The Blue Cave is protected as a geomorphological monument of nature since 1951. A special natural light phenomenon in the cave leaves no one indifferent.
Really stunning.

I have never been there myself (I'd love to), but I got the photos off the Internet.

So what's going on here in Spain? We are having a spell of sunny weather again. My lemon tree has 7 lemons on them but I'm not sure that they will mature, but I like looking at them. Here are two visible (They are still green):

Frankie is doing fine and 'helps' me writing this and sits on the keyboard or on my hand to 'guide' it.

As this is Tea for Tuesday (hosted by Bluebeard and Elizabeth), I will show you a drink, or in this case, several. Somebody in the church had a  pastor visiting and held a little meeting to hear about his evangelistic endeavours:

I met a cricket on my terrace while hanging out the washing:

Now we get to the walk I did with Antonia. We walked 10km
We came to the local iron bridge (built by Eiffel himself) and of course I had to take a picture:
This is Antonia carrying her dog Poppy as it's quite a hight and the walkway is very narrow.

I think I have a few coffee related images to share

That is it from me today.

Happy T-Day,
Lisca

What a charming postcard. I have a friend (Branka) who came from Croatia. She and her family moved here when she was a child. The stamp is gorgeous. What a sight to be able to find that cave.

Those lemons look more like limes (grin). Love seeing Frankie again. She is doing so well, it seems. And so helpful, too!

I didn't realize lived so close to the famous bridge Eiffel built. That would scare me. You and your friend are a lot braver than I would be.

How nice to have a get together with a visiting pastor. Looks like lots and lots of great drinks to choose from, too. Thanks for sharing your postcard, walk with Antonia, Frankie, the visiting pastor, and drinks with us for T this Tuesday, dear Lisca.

Croatia is on my want to visit list. I know a few people who have been there and they say it's gorgeous. It's cool that bridge was built by Eiffel, but I'm not sure I'd want to walk on it. If it's that high it is. Do trains still go by.I hope you have a super T day and week ahead. Give Frankie a scratch for me too. hugs-Erika

The blue cave is beautiful, I would love to see it too. Glad Frankie is doing well and enjoying some boxes - Miss Lily has to try out every box that enters the house lol Happy T Day!

The Blue Cave is really very beautiful.
Lemons, hmmmm. I have Gennaro Contaldo´s cook-book Limoni, must have a look again!
Owwww, Frankie is just too cute. Fun group and 10 km is great.
I went into Starbucks once. Saw the prices, turned and left.
Have a great T-Day.

Cute postcard. The Blue Cave would be a marvelous sight to see. Frankie in her box is so adorable and crickets are supposed to be very lucky. Happy T Day

When the former country of Yugoslavia broke up via a brutal civil war, it was very sad. I always meant to visit there , but it never happened. Perhaps some day I’ll still go to the several independent countries that emerged from the destructive struggle.
Your walking route looks enjoyable.
