Hello lovely peeps,
How are you all? It's election day in the USA. As a non-American I always find it very strange that there are only two candidates for this important role. What if you don't like either of them? You'd have to choose between the lesser of the two 'evils'. Anyway may the best (wo)man win.
I've been quite busy, as my friend
from the Netherlands is visiting. But let me first show you my postcard:
It comes from Singapore and it's a little unusual. The writing underneath is:
It was sent to me by someone called Jonathan who has used a cute stamp with (what looks like) beavers:
I had my lovely lodger over for a meal last week:
I had cooked steak and chips.
I'm going to link with Elizabeth's T-Party at Altered Booklover, so here is my drink: Two glasses of red wine.
As I said my Dutch friend is staying. She has a lovely dog called Roxy. My kitten Frankie and Roxy get on well:
Here they are saying hello to each other.
But Frankie has been a bit ill. On Friday night she was not well and I took her to the vet on Saturday morning. She had a bad cold with a high fever. She was given antibiotics and a few liquid medicines which I have to give her every day (with my friend Dian's help). Frankie is now much better. Is eating and playing again.
Many of you have heard about the torrential rains and devastating flooding in the Valencia area of Spain. It has been awful and much worse than other years. Many people died and there are countless people that have lost their house or car. In the little town near us, the flag was half mast to honour the dead:
We have also had a lot of rain (A year's worth in 24 hours) so my friend and I went to the reservoir, which had been very low for the last few years (only 28% full). It seems a lot fuller now, which is a really good thing:
I have known the water level to come up to the children's play area. But it's a lot higher now than it has been for the last few years
We would have liked to go down to the 'beach' to let the dog have a good runabout, but just as we arrived there was a flock of goats passing through and the shepherd dogs protect the flock and were not very friendly obviously, so we had to make a quick exit.
That is all from me today,
Keep smiling,
Hugs,
Lisca

Is your friend the woman you traveled with before. The friend you traveled with who had a dog, I think it was Roxy. It looks like she and Frankie got along ok too. I'm glad to read Frankie is better now too. It's scary when our pets get sick. Have a nice visit with your friend and also a happy T day too. hugs-Erika
