Hello lovely ladies! How are you all? Here things are much better. Hubby is recovering well from his operation. Getting stronger by the day.
Let's start with my postcard. I like maps, but this map card baffled me as it is all in Russian. It was sent to me by Sasha in Barnaul. He (or she, as in some countries Sasha is a girl's name) wrote that it was -22 degrees C. There is also a quote on the card, 'Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.'
The largest city on the map is the city of Barnaul. Barnaul is a city on the western banks of the Ob River in the Altai Krai region of Siberia, Russia.
But the most fascinating one is the red stamp with the mythical horse. it represents 250 years of voluntary entry of the Altai people into the Russian state. The map below shows that the Altai Republic is just south of Barnaul.
The Altai mountains have geysers just like in Yellowstone Park.
According to a 19th century legend, the Truth and the Lie meet one day. The Lie says to the Truth: “It’s a marvellous day today”! The Truth looks up to the skies and sighs, for the day was really beautiful.
They spend a lot of time together, ultimately arriving beside a well. The Lie tells the Truth: “The water is very nice, let’s take a bath together!” The Truth, once again suspicious, tests the water and discovers that it indeed is very nice. They undress and start bathing. Suddenly, the Lie comes out of the water, puts on the clothes of the Truth and runs away. The furious Truth comes out of the well and runs everywhere to find the Lie and to get her clothes back. The World, seeing the Truth naked, turns its gaze away, with contempt and rage.
The poor Truth returns to the well and disappears forever, hiding therein, its shame. Since then, the Lie travels around the world, dressed as the Truth, satisfying the needs of society, because, the World, in any case, harbours no wish at all to meet the naked Truth.
The world famous painting- “The Truth coming out of the well” Jean-Léon Gérôme, 1896.
It's going to be a memorable day for me today. It's my birthday and I am 70 today! I must say, 70 sounds really old! (69 is not too bad, but 70 sounds ancient). I'm sure I'll get used to it soon enough.

Your postcard and stamps are very fascinating today. I have seen exhibits of gold and other artifacts from the graves of Sythian warriors — amazing workmanship.
Best... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Those stamps really are fabulous!
You sure look great for 70 years old. From what I can tell, you take care of yourself and are very fit, so 70 is just a number.
Your hubby is looking good and I am glad to hear that he is recovering well.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
What amazing history and knowledge you get from your postcards Lisca! And yes, the stamps are just as fascinating. Glad to see your hubby looking well, and speaking of... happy, happy birthday you lovely lady!!!! You certainly do not look 70! Enjoy, and happy T day!
Lisca , Happy Birthday, you certainly don’t look 70, have a lovely day.
I love maps too, you give us so much information every week, so interesting too.
So pleased to see Graham out and about and recovering so well, he is looking well.
Happy Birthday and T Day

Happy birthday, Lisca. You must have great genes because you certainly don't look your age. It's good to read that Graham is doing so well, too.
Wow, I learned so much today with your postcard AND stamps. I think they are as impressive, if not more so, than the postcard this week. And I am sure the tortoise stamp made your day, too.
Looks like you two had fun at the bar. I've never heard of a café cortado, so had to do an internet search to see what it was. Learned it was an espresso that has steamed milk, but no froth. Thanks for sharing your postcard, stamps, and café cortado with us for T this Tuesday, dear. Again, happy birthday. Enjoy that treat in front of you, too.
Happy birthday Lisca, you look great! Good to see your hubby looking well again, too. What a fab postcard you got, thanks for sharing all the info and pics. Happy T Day, have a great week, hugs, Valerie
I forgot to thank you for taking a photo that included a child's carousel horse. Just wonderful. Thanks for thinking of me.
Happy Birthday Lisca! Don't worry about you're age, no one will know as you look much younger 😉 ...except you've told everyone now ...lol 😉. Such interesting postcards this week and it's so lovely to see your hubby out and about. I'm so glad he's feeling better and recovering well! Take care and happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
-22C?! ARGH. OW.
Clever quote! I need to remember that! (I saved it)
One of my teamleaders (from GDR) once sang the Russian alphabet to me. Sounded rather strange!
You know? I am tempted to send you a card of here just to see what lesson you can give on here!!! In other words: Thank you for another history-lesson, I always look forward to this!!!
Glad to see your Hubby like this!
WOW. Yes. Poor Truth. Great telling. Sadly.. true... And she´s so beautiful, too.
Happy, very happy Birthday!!! Just yesterday I had a talk with a relative who hit the 50 "already". She said, it´s but a number! To many more fun, healthy, fit, funny days!! And love, of course!!!
Happy T-day and looking forward to more history-lessons.
If you like a card from here just give me your address to flaviakaiser@gmx.de.
Happy birthday Lisca. I hope you are having a wonderful day. 70 doesn't sounds that old to me. I think in our parent's generation 70 meant something different than it does now, at least I should say when I think of my parents at 70 and the people I know who are 70+ now. Thanks for the armchair travel. I am really enjoying armchair travel right now. And I'm also glad to hear your husband is improving. Once this pandemic ends you both need to be well so you can really celebrate your birthday, or should I say birthdays as last year things weren't very good either. Have a wonderful T day! Hugs-Erika
I'm grateful for the armchair travel, as it's all the travel I'm getting these days :) I hadn't heard the naked Truth story, but it would explain a lot :(
Happy Birthday! and Happy T Tuesday :)
well if that's what 70 looks like, yea! I'm going to be that in a few more years and join you! Love the truth and lie story... living in the US it really fits at the moment. Lots of people seem to want to believe lies, but also lots of us would rather see naked truth as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed this post. Beautiful card, photos, and that horse regalia is stunning. Yes, your DH looks wonderful. Glad that he was able to get out and about. You look lovely as well.
I always enjoy your postcard travels and stamps. Those horses are beautiful. Glad that your husband is doing so well. Happy Birthday to you! 💐🎂 I saw something on Facebook that said since people are living so long, 70 is middle age. 90+ is elderly. With that in mind, you're just hitting your stride! Happy T Day
Happy Birthday Lisca! Next year you'll be saying you're in your early sevnties and that seems so much better than 70. Your postcard started off some great research. Love those bright traditional costumes. Glad that your hubby is feeling better and that you can eat outside. I hadn't heard that story, Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
You are looking great for 70! Happy Birthday! Is that you getting out of the well? LOL Fun post today and great to see both you and hubby beaming.
