Good morning lovely ladies! I hope you are all well. I found this lovely image on the internet. Tulips and roses in a large cup. Yes, I know, some people would rather have coffee in their cup....
Let's start with my postcard:
This one comes from Russia. It was sent to me by Katya, who is a programmer in Kirov. The photo of the ballerina is entitled Flag of Red by Bonita Suraputra. I googled Bonita and she is a photographer in Singapore.
The stamps are stunning. The one on the left is a wildcat.
The European wildcat (Felis silvestris) is a wildcat species native to continental Europe, Scotland, Turkey and the Caucasus.[4] It inhabits forests from the Iberian Peninsula, Italy, Central and Eastern Europe to the Caucasus. It has been extirpated in England and Wales.[3]
In France and Italy, the European wildcat is predominantly nocturnal, but also active in the daytime when undisturbed by human activities.
- Own work based on: Yamaguchi, N.; Kitchener, A.; Driscoll, C. & Nussberger, B. (2015). "Felis silvestris". The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species 2015: e.T60354712A50652361)
There are quite a lot of wildcats in here in Spain and also a declining number of lynxes I have been told.
At the end of September, hubby and I went on a little trip. I have already shown you the photos from the Caminito del Rey in last week's post. Today I will show you the photos from this quaint village, called Setenil de las Bodegas. It is built under the rocks.
As today is Tuesday, I'm going to join the T-Party, hosted by Elizabeth and Bluebeard. My drink is a home made raspberry kombucha. On Sunday's there is a car boot sale in the nearby town. It was started ten years ago by the English ex-pats, and has grown into a large 'rastro ingles'. There is a lady that makes pies and sells them in the market on Sundays. Hubby went to get one for our sunday dinner. This one is chicken and mushroom. Very nice indeed. (With chips cooked in the air fryer)
Saturday evening I made tortillas using my new(ish) tortilla press. They turned out perfect. My mexican friend made us some chilli sauce.
The weather here is still warm and sunny. But winter will come soon and hubby is preparing the fire wood. Our only source of heating is our stove, so we like to get plenty of wood. We have nice logs, but it is also handy to have smaller bits. This is our pile of 'bits'.
Of course that doesn't fit in the stove, so they have to be chopped into smaller pieces. Hubby spends an hour every evening to get through this pile.
That is it from me. I'm off to the T-Party.
Stay safe,
Hugs,
Lisca

Did you know that Henry Ford said "chop your own wood and it will warm you twice"? It's carved in stone above the fireplace of his home, which is now part of a college campus in Dearborn, MI. where the Ford World Headquarters and famous Rouge Plant are located.
Nice post card!
be well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
The postcard of that ballerina is stunning!
What's not to love about visiting quaint little villages- better than most big cities in my opinion:) Your pie of choice looks SO good, and homemade tortillas-yum!!
Good to be well stocked with the wood for winter-good job hubby!
Happy T day!
Wow that looks like such a great trip you took. Between the bridges in the canyon and now these interesting buildings among the rocks. It looks fascinating. And nice tortilla maker. Your Mexican food looks delicious just like Elizabeth's does too. Yum. Making me hungry. Smile. Have a fabulous T day Lisca. Hugs-Erika
What an amazing postcard. I knew it was Russian before I read it. Such a fun read and so interesting how you take the time to research everything.
That trip looks most impressive, Lisca. I was so surprised to see the way those houses were built under the rocks. I hope they don't have fear of earthquakes there. I loved the photo of you at the bottom of those stairs. That was a stellar shot.
How awesome to have a tortilla maker. It all looks so healthy and delicious, too. MUCH nicer than the Mexican meal I shared this week.
Thanks for sharing your postcard, your meals, and your home made kombucha with us for T this Tuesday, dear.
Such a beautiful woman!
Oh. That rock looks a tad "threatening" to me.
Hmmmm, pie! Tortilla! You make me all hungry and it´s only 07:15 am! Help! LOL.
Am I glad we just turn on the heating like that. On the other hand... if that fails we get cold, you´re on the safe side (and I wish Hubby had a sport-session each night, too!).
A happy T-day and hugs.
Wonderful postcards and stamps. I love the look of that pie, and it looks good with chips. I lent my airfryer to a friend a year back and am still waiting for her to return it! Nothing like a wood stove, it sounds so cosy! Have a good week, take care, hugs, Valerie
What a neat city ~ looks like it would be fun to explore. Your postcards are terrific and so is your food. Stay warm & enjoy the week
I was stopped in my mental tracks with that rock city. When you travel on the east coast you see signs for "see Rock City" everywhere, but that my friend, is ROCK CITY! Love the pic of you making tortillas! I used to make crepes with an electric crepe maker... you reminded me of that. I wonder where that thing is after about 6 moves! LeeAnna at not afraid of color
I love the ballet postcard, Lisca. I love anything ballet.
The houses under the rock ledge look very dreary to me. They must be quite dark inside.
Your food is interesting to me - several dishes I've never had, but would like to try. You make your own tortillas? Cool.
Cutting all that wood looks like a big job. No wonder you guys are in such good shape.
Happy T-day! Stay safe and stay well. Hugs, Eileen
I love those stamps-they are awesome. wow I have never seen anything like this-buildings under those rocks like that-I would not feel safe there at all-must be solid-but I would be freaked out inside those buildings.
Foods sound delicious-I love making handmade tortilla shells too.
I miss our woodstoves. there is a nice woodstove here at the lake house but we discovered she had a major chimney fire so not safe to use til fix. Happy T day hugs Kathy
Beautiful ballet postcard! Wow, the village built under the rock face is amazing, it looks like a wonderful place to explore 😁. You've had some yummy meals too and it's great to get all that fire wood ready for winter too. Wishing you a very happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
Heavy, heavy hangs over thy head indeed! Wow! What a fascinating place. The food looks tasty. I remember depending on a wood stove for heat. It was a lot of work, but I've never had better heat. Happy T Tuesday!
First time here! I love postcards and have a couple of friends that love me to send them cards when I travel, although that has been put on hold for a while!!!
Hi again, Lisca. I came back to respond to your comment on my blog.
I do enjoy cooking - just not every day. At the end of a busy day, I don't feel like cooking too! It's nice to have takeout or delivery. We didn't have any restaurants that delivered before COVID except Domino's pizza (yuck). Thank you for the comment on my painting.
You confirmed that the acrylic color is just too strong. Like I said, next time I'll try gouache.
I had to laugh at your comment about the "brown gravy." They are actually refried beans, which, along with Spanish rice, came with the meal.
Oh, what a pretty postcard. I especially love those stamps.
What a great village. Setenil de las Bodegas is so interesting. I have never heard of a village build under the rocks but it looks like a place that I would love to visit. Thank you for sharing the pictures.
Your pie looks delicious. I have to say, savory pies are not something that is common in the States but whenever I see pictures of one, they make me want to try making them. Your raspberry Kombucha looks delicious as well.
Your tortillas look yummy. I would love to try making them but I don't have anymore room for another kitchen gadget. I may just have to come by and try some of yours. They look perfect.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
I was showing my husband the village built under the rocks. That just seems crazy but at the same time so unique. Great job on the tortillas. My wood cutting days are over with. Did it for many years and hope I never have to do it again. Have a very nice evening.
The wild cat makes me think of the bobcat that has been sighted in my town. Part of me wants to see the bobcat in my yard, part of me doesn't! 😺Mmm, the chicken pie and fries sounds so good, and you look like you are having fun with your tortilla press. Too bad, you didn't live closer, A large branch came down in a storm last week. You'd be welcome to the wood. Himself cut it up into smaller sections so I can take it up into the woods. Happy T Day. Take care and enjoy the week.
