A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 25 August 2020 - T for sunsets, cactus flower and good books.

Hello lovely ladies! It's Tuesday again and time for the T-Party. I will share a drink with you as soon as I find one, but first I would like to share a beautiful postcard with you. It comes from S.Korea and was sent to me by Hanna.
It depicts the statue of the King Sejong.

Wikipedia writes about this statue:
Statue of King Sejong is located at the SejongnoGwanghwamun Plaza in central SeoulSouth Korea. It is dedicated to the 15th century Korean monarch, Sejong the Great, the fourth king of Joseon dynasty and one of Korea's most famous historical figures. The statue is considered one of Seoul's major landmarks. Unveiled in 2009, it has been called "South Korea's most iconic statue.
The stamp is beautiful. It's a flower that I recognize but it's name escapes me at the moment.

Would you believe I have not a single photo with a drink in it! I have bought a new pan the week, and there, in the back ground is a citrus press/juicer. That is as close as it gets to a drink. Sorry.

I'm very happy with my new pan.

Here is my drink reference number two. Peeps who read my Friday blog, know that I like to include funnies. This one made me smile:

We've had a busy week with our Dutch visitors. On one of the last evenings I took them to a beauty spot to watch the sunset. It was beautiful. They took some photos of us for a change:

Hubby did a BBQ on one of the evenings at the pool.
We are in the middle of cucumber season, and as you can't freeze cucumbers, I often find a plastic bag full of cucumbers on the door. (Kindly left there by one of my neighbours).
I bought some essential oil this week. This is a very strong thyme (tomillo in Spanish), that is good for the lungs in aromatherapy and it is nice to put just one drop inside my mask.
I finished the book I was reading: Death at Eden's End. It is set in England in the Lake District.  I have been to the village in which it is set, so I can imagine what it looks like. Eden's End is the name of an old people's home where a 100 year old dies in suspect circumstances.  It is the first of a series and the detective is a nice guy with a female side kick (possible future romantic involvement?) and an ex whom he still loves.
I enjoyed it very much. It was an el cheapo from Amazon for my kindle.

I'm now reading this:

Ken Follett, need I say any more?

My cactus is flowering again! What a beauty!

On Sunday I quickly baked some muffins (with pieces of peach in them). By no means perfect, but they tasted nice.

Yesterday I went walking again with my friend. We go Monday and Friday morning.

I'd forgotten my own walking stick, so I improvised with this stick I found on the way.

And now I'm going to join Elizabeth and Bluebeard at the T-Party with my meagre drink reference.

Happy T-Day all!
Take care,
Hugs,
Lisca

Hi Lisca. In regards to your question about deleting a photo from the new blogger, if you click on the photo and highlight it and then hit delete on your computer, it should get rid of your photo. And the photos of you and your husband are beautiful. I also love the cactus flower. What an interesting bloom. And thanks for your book recommendations. I always enjoy a good book (or 2) ideas for future reads. Have a wonderful T day. Hugs-Erika

You won't believe this, but my internet has been offline since about 3 pm my time. I'm glad I had my post ready to go, because I couldn't get online.

What lovely photos of you and your husband. I am surprised you were wearing what I call "flip-flops" in that rocky area. But you got some great photos that your friends took.

Wow, that cactus is on steroids (grin). It's doing GREAT.

Really lovely muffins. I think they look great. And I think your juicer is an ideal reference for T this Tuesday. Of course, the drinks were clever, too. Saying please can get you places.

Lovely photos of the two of you!

To delete just click on the pic and hit your keyboard-delete or switch to HTML and delete it by hand.
Awww, you truly have great neighbours!

I´m with you, I love to read Braunschweig thrillers. Wow to the cactus! And the stick :-)
A happy T-day to you, hugs from here!

I think your stamp is a Rose of Sharon/ Hibiscus ~ Great photos of you both, especially the one sitting down on the rock with the setting sun. I wrote down both authors and will see if I can find any used books online from them, thanks for the reference. What an amazing cactus bloom too! ~ Enjoy your week

King Sejong was responsible for creating the Hangul, the Korean alphabet. A beautiful postcard and image of the statue. :) Oh, those muffins looks so tasty!

Wow! I so enjoy your posts. You are so fortunate to live where you do to be as active as you are and to share it all with us. Your cactus bloom is breathtaking. Your muffins look fine to me. I have canned 48 jars of pickles from cucumbers I have grown. Plus eating and sharing them. Nice that you can come home to find them at your door. Have a nice evening.

The flower on the stamp, I think is a hibiscus. Whatever it is, very pretty. Gorgeous sunset and a lovely backdrop for your pictures. You are a beautiful couple. I have over 100 essential oils. I never thought to use a drop on my mask. Thanks for the tip. Happy T Day

I must say the flower stamp is a beauty and your cactus flower is so pretty!! Love the sign at the coffee shop! Your friend took great photos of you both - we very rarely have photos of us together! Thanks for the book suggestions. That's a hand looking stick you found! My son and his wife are not living in France at the moment they had planned on going out several times this year but this is the first chance they have had. I think once the manoir is a bit more habitable they will spend more time there - at the moment their wages are funding the renovations, fortunately the rest is paid for!
Belated T Day Wishes, Chrisx
