A giant teapot-shaped sculpture in the air in Zunyi City, northern China.
This photo shows the three-ton, four-metre high teapot pouring water out into a pool.
According to reports, there is a steel pipe, 50cm in diameter, inside the water column that supports the teapot. A pump was installed in the pool, that can pump the water up into the teapot continuously.
Hello lovely ladies,
It's T-time again! Let's visit Elizabeth and Bluebeard (and Squiggles too) who host ,the by now famous, T-Party. Please join us with a blog post that has a drink, or drink reference in it.
Let me start with my post card. It comes from the USA and it features this fine fella. He is a young male bullfrog, painted in watercolor by a Swiss gentleman named Karl Bodmer (1809-1893) in 1832. You can find the original in the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha.
Karl Bodmin sailed to the US with the German Prins Maximilian and they traveled around from 1832-1834 documenting everything they saw. One winter was spent in Fort Clark in North Dakota, where the Mandan Indians lived. What else can I tell you. Well, we went to the local garden centre last week. I needed a few more plants for my patio. I ended up with a trolley full of stuff (as you do):
I surprised myself by buying a beautiful cactus. That 'thing' with the hanging fronds.
Here it is hanging on my wall. It's called a Selenicereus Validus. It needs an arid and hot climate. So perfect for here.
Every Monday and Friday I spend time with my friend walking. Sometimes we stop to have a freshly squeezed orange juice. Not every bar does it, as not every bar has the appropriate machine to do it, but our local Bar Navarro makes lovely orange juice.
I have been making a lot of cards this week as we have lots of birthdays and anniversaries in the family this month. My son, and my twin stepchildren were all born on the same day in August, one daughter-in-law and one son-in-law have their birthdays too.
Hubby and I will celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary this weekend. We have booked a fish and chips supper at a bar in Baza. They do this once a month, and it is strictly bookings only. That is better than having to drive all the way to the coast for some fish and chips (the English way). I'm greatly looking forward to this date night with hubby. Photos next week.
I digress... I wanted to tell you about the cards I made. Of course I can't show you them as the recipients might read this. But I have made one thank you card for a Spanish lady, who will not read my blog:
Sorry for the bad lighting. I wanted to scan it but the scanner wants me to re-boot my computer. Well, I'm not going to do that. Much quicker to take a photo. The elements are fussy cut and layered. The word 'gracias' is a stamp.
It's nearly midnight and I am pouring myself a drink. It's called Pastis (French). I pour a small measure on top of some ice cubes and then fill the glass with fizzy water. The drink will then change colour and become cloudy. It tastes of anis. Cheers!
I think I'll leave it at that.
Wishing you all a very happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca

You got some beautiful cards again. Love the huge teapot. Glad you were able to get out and about a bit. Enjoy your anniversary dinner, too. Have a great week, take care, hugs, Valerie
Beautiful artwork, but... that cactus... I´d be afraid it´ll crawl over, brrr ;-)
Hmmmm. Reckon I have to go to the castle for a fresh orange juice later! (It´s just a shopping mall, the real castle was bombed in WWII).
Lots of celebrating, yay!
Beautiful card! And I remember, we call it Pernod, you add ice and tap water. Oh, boy, I had the last glass when I was 18 - that was 30 years ago!!!
Where did time go???
I guess it went a good way, happy T-day and hugs to you :-)
I have heard of pastors but didn’t know what it was. And I love your Postcard this week. Last summer I visited that area and learned about the Mandans. So it was nice to see something about them again. And fresh oj is always good. Love the cactus too. I have never seen a hanging one. Happy early anniversary and happy t day. Enjoy. Hugs Erika
That tea pot is perfect for T day! wonderful bull frog and stamps too ~ That cactus looks alive, I wouldn't want to re-pot him. Terrific card I'm sure she will love it ~ Enjoy the week!
Love that tea pot fountain--very cool-and I have tea pot similiar to that one-you get the coolest postcards.
Nice to make cards for everyone, and Happy Anniversary!! Love your new cactus-I tend to over water those and kill the plants-sigh.
Hubs would enjoy your drink Happy T hugs Kathy
Wow, that teapot sculpture is amazing - I love it! Sending you happy anniversary wishes, enjoy your celebrations 😁. I'm loving the card too! Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
What a teapot! It makes a real statement, doesn't it! "a trolley full of stuff (as you do)" sounds like my garden center trips lol As small as my patio is, there's always room for one more plant. Or two, or three or... lol
Fresh-squeezed oj would be the highlight of an outing for me :) I've never heard of pastis, but it makes a pretty drink.
Happy Anniversary! May your future together be long, and may these memories of times together through the years bring you joy.
Happy T Tuesday!
Happy Anniversary! What an amazing teapot! And a perfect photo for T Day! Happy T Day!
What a delightful fountain. I'd never heard of the Mandan Tribe. A beautiful cactus indeed.
Happy anniversary! You made a very cute card for your Spanish friend.
You wondered if you could make powdered sugar in your coffee grinder. Now you've got me wondering too. It might work if the blades go fast enough and if there's no way the powder could get inside and gum up the works.
Happy T-day and have a lovely week! Hugs, Eileen
wow-that teapot sculpture is amazing!! You always receive such super postcards and postage too. That cactus reminds me of an octopus...
Happy anniversary- I'm sure you'll have a lovely dinner. Beautiful card art. Happy T day!
forgot to mention that I had pastis quite a lot when in France with family but that was the last time I had it. Never bought it to drink for home cuz it just wouldn't be the same:)
Happy T-Day! (I'm leaving a generic comment for everyone this week, because I'm very sore after each day's storm clean up efforts. Tropical Storm Isaias clobbered Connecticut US August 4, 2020.)
Isn't that the way? Go into a store for one thing and then a whole cart later! Enjoy your new plants. Very cute card. Happy Anniversary and Happy T Day!
Congratulations on 28 years. I love the history lesson this week. Glad you are getting out and about. I still stay in unless it is necessary to go out. I love the new cactus you got! Your art is lovely. Have a very nice day.
