A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 3 July 2018 - T for Vordingborg

Hello lovely people,

Here I am again on Tuesday. It’s time for the T-party hosted by Elizabeth band Bluebeard.

I would normally show you a postcard (or two) but I am not at home so I am showing you this birthday card that I made for a friend’s birthday. All the elements are cut out and stuck on.
As you might know, we have just come back from a month-long road trip through Europe. Today I will share some photos from Denmark.                       We visited a small town called Vordingborg. It is famous for its medieval ‘goose’ tower. Its spire has a golden goose on top.

The tower is part of a fortified castle complex, of which only this tower survives (and some parts of the walls).  Legend has it that King Valdemar Atterdag had a goose put on the spire to poke fun at the German Hanseatic towns across the water.

We bought tickets and climbed to the top where there was a wonderful view over the town and the sea.

There was a small museum with artifacts which we were allowed to handle.
The armour is sooo heavy. I could hardly lift that glove let alone wear it.
Hubby having fun with a heavy hat, and below, with a helmet.
One of our friends having a laugh!
After the visit to the tower we walked into the little town of Vordingborg and found a nice cafe to have a drink:

I've just noticed that I am in the reflection of the window taking the picture.
My friend and I had this delicious concoction of latte with caramel sirop. In the background you can see hubby taking a sip from my glass while I was taking pictures. I think he regretted ordering rosé.

The above drinks qualify me for the T-party and I hope you will all join me with any post which has a beverage in it.

Have a good week all of you and stay safe,

Happy T-Day!

Lisca
