A Postcard A Day - Friday 28 July 2017 - Friday Smiles

Good morning lovely people!

Phew! We have just come back from a short camping holiday. We had had visitors the week before and now it was time for us to get away from it all. We took our tent to a camp site not far from where we live (45 minutes drive). We used to go there with our campervan (which we have since sold).
Behind the tent you can see the pine cones that we collected on a short walk around the camp site. We love those large ones as they help lighting the fire in Winter. (kindling)

The camp site is in a natural park and has lots of trees (shade!) which means it is a bit cooler tan where we live. We always love going there.
Here is the lake Bolero (reservoir really) seen from on high. Our campsite is just out of the picture and is not actually on the lake but within walking distance.

I am joining Annie at A Stitch In Time for Friday Smiles, as a few days camping is something to smile about.

The other smiles this week was the fact that hubby finished the downstairs bathroom/shower:
It has one of those large 'rosettes'. A rain shower i think they are called. We have very high wáter pressure so standing under that shower is great!.
And we managed to find a mirror with a small cabinet attached to put  some bits and bobs in. I am very pleased with how it all tuned out. Smiles all over!

Now for my postcard:

It is one that I have sent this week. I must confess, I found it somewhere at the bottom of my drawer, upside down and forgotten. But it did make me smile as we have many years of caravanning behind us and can appreciate the funny situation.

A couple of funnies to finish with:

Have a super smiley Friday and a fab weekend.
Of course also a good week ahead,
Hugs,
Lisca

  1. We enjoyed many happy camping holidays as our family was growing up and I can well remember camping in a pine forest in France and having a huge branch off one of the trees landing on our car during a thunderstorm! We weren't smiling that day lol. We gathered the pine cones too but just to keep cos they were sooooo huge. Alas my camping days are over now cos if I managed to get down on the floor to sleep I'd never get up the next day lol. Thanks for sharing.
    Hugs,
    Annie x

  3. Hi Lisca, I'm sure that postcard was one of those that I sent you ages ago, you remember I sent you a few. Nice to see it again. We are going to the East coast again in September so I will have a look to see if there are any different ones. The shower room is lovely, very stylish. I fully understand the remotes, brilliant idea! Have a great weekend, Angela xXx

  6. I am so glad you had a cooler week in your tent. They say we are having it hot, hot, hot again this coming week!
Well done Graham on a splendid job done in the bathroom.
I laughed at your postcard and the funnies. I think Chris would like to do that with our remotes for me. I am always pressing the wrong buttons.
Have a lovely week. Blessings. Kate x
