A Postcard A day - Friday 12 May 2026 - Friday Smiles

 Hello lovely girls,

Have you had a good week? I will tell you about mine after I show you this funny postcard I received a while ago:

It comes to me from Petra who lives in Bremerhaven, northern Germany. She writes that she is a pediatric nurse.
The stamp is the standard German stamp for a postcard in Europe:

My week has been better than last week. I have spent time with my friends and I've been to church, to Pilates and have been to town to do the shopping. During all of this I forgot to take pictures.

I had my nails done again. This time a turquoisy colour with metallic detail called 'cat's eyes'.

And on Wednesday my friends, who always come to me to have lunch, invited me to have pizza in their garden. They have a fancy pizza oven and they are both good cooks.

We had two pizzas between the three of us. The first one (photo above) was a plain cheese pizza and was a bit mis-shapen. It tasted wonderful!

But the second one, with all the toppings, was perfect!
Pizza dough that takes 24 hours to prove, then a bit of topping.
Popped into a preheated oven, it only takes a minute!

I had to drive, so I couldn't have wine. I had a non-alcoholic beer and my friend did not have wine either out of sympathy for me, which I think is the sigh of true friendship.

Here is another true friend:
The one and only Ronnie!

Of course I have some funnies for you at the end.

Have a great weekend,

Keep smiling!

Lisca

Do you really have to post pizza-pics?! It´s brekkie-time and now I want pizza, LOL - oh, those look soooo good!
And to friends, with or without fur.
"Excellent"!!! I´ll skip Wendy´s! And the wine.
Have a great Friday.

That's a great postcard. And you must over the turtle on it. And boy do those pizzas look good. I made pizza this past week too, but I don't have one of those pizza ovens. This time I just used the one in my kitchen but sometimes I grill them. And thanks for the laugh with your funnies today. Have a super weekend. hugs-Erika

It’s grilling season here and you reminded me about doing pizza on the grill so it gets that charcoal aroma.

I did smile at the frisbee catching torroise. What a fun postcard.
We are not fans of pizzas but the ovens look very cool, and it makes a meal with friends special when they cook in one for you.
Lovely picture of you and Ronnie. x

Hi Lisca, I just love that postcard. Your nails look great and a lovely shape. They are very special pizzas, scrummy and Ronnie obviously knows the best places to be. The baby funny made me smile. Pleased you liked the Guest house, you're right so many people modernise the outside of these lovely houses which I understand that they think it's what people expect but it's a shame to lose the originality and style. Hope you have a good weekend, hugs Angela xXx

Sorry I'm late to the party. I love that postcard. I know you do, too. Lovely nails this week. What amazing pizzas. I haven't had a pizza in ages. Ronnie is indeed a true friend. My Friday Smiles will be late. I'll have them posted later today.
