A Postcard A Day - Tuesday 4 April 2023 - T for television, Aussie and good friends

Hello lovely people, It's Monday night again. Boy, time flies!

The postcard I want to share with you is perhaps the most beautiful I have ever received. It is beautiful photography, beautiful scenery and a beautiful stamp on the front (this is called a Maxi card) and a great message on the back.

This comes to me from Sharon, who "lives in the beautiful and remote coastal wilderness of Eastern Australia on solar energy and rain tanks for water and surrounded by unique and precious wildlife."

The card shows Lord Howe Island, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1982.

Lord Howe Island is a tiny Australian island in the Tasman Sea east of Port Macquarie. It's characterised by sandy beaches, subtropical forests and clear waters. In the south, a trail winds up soaring Mount Gower, with sweeping views. Ned's Beach in the north has calm fish- and coral-rich waters. The island is home to seabird colonies, including masked boobies. Dive sites surround the nearby Admiralty Islands. (Google)

Population: 380 permanent residents. Tourists are restricted to 400 at any one time.

Sharon writes on the back of the card: "Did you know that by 2050 there will be - by weight _ more plastic in the ocean than fish! Stop + Think + Recycle: Our oceans are not a rubbish dump!"

I will be joining the T-Party hosted by Bleubeard and Elizabeth. For that I need a drink. Well I have been socialising quite a bit so several drinks in sight.
Saturday evening I went out with my friends David and Patricia.

I had 'codillo' or pork shank.

And I had a glass of wine, but only my water glass is visible.
Below is my meal on Friday. I had bought myself sea bass and made some fries in the air fryer.

Blogger puts photos in random order, so I was coming round to the television. I have now also bought a (rather large) tv set for my lounge area. I have since unpacked it and my lodger David Jr has set it up so I at least can watch Netflix and films on YouTube.

Tomorrow Andy will set up all the stations through a digi box that I bought. I have also bought a sound bar because I listen to music a lot and I do want a decent sound. The sound bar is still in the box. I hope Andy has time to do it all...

Below is another home cooked meal.
Chicken with spinach and potatoes.

One more giggly photo of me and I'll call it a day.
I was taking a photo of Patricia and she was taking one of me, hence the giggles. We really had a lovely time together. We always used to go out as a foursome, and I was wundering how this would pan out. I needn't have worried. It was lovely. Great company, good conversation and delicious food.

Wishing you all a very happy T-Day.
Keep smiling,
Hugs,
Lisca

You have a great smile Lisca, especially in that giggle photo. And you have so much yummy food in today's post. And since I haven't had dinner yet, you've now made me hungry-smile. That's OK, dinner will be soon and I went out to lunch with a friend today. You're right that's a great postcard this week. There are so many beautiful places in the world that hopefully won't disappear or get run over with trash. I hope you have a wonderful T day, week ahead and Easter also. hugs-Erika

Sad with the ocean-lookout. I don´t understand people who litter, no matter where.
Wow that is really some TV! :-)
To yummy meals and friendships, have a happy T-Day!

That is one insanely HUGE smart TV. You will definitely LOVE the smart TV, but I leave my TV on 24/7 because I like the background noise and I like to sleep with sound. However, my Smart TV likes to turn itself off after awhile and if I'm asleep, it immediately wakes me. I'm sure you won't have the same problem.

Ironically, I've been working on a journal page that includes Lord Howe Island. Mine doesn't have the personal touch your postcard from Sharon did. It's a beauty and fits nicely with my recycle theme this month, too. I can tell she is conscientious of the earth and oceans.

You gave us a plethora of drinks for T this week, too, Lisca. You sure like your wine and I see you are enjoying eating both healthy with friends and at home, too. Thanks for sharing the Lord Howe Island postcard, your drinks, and that huge TV with us for T this Tuesday, dear friend.

Love all the food and drink pictures - especially the one of you giggling. All your meals look delish! I want a bigger TV too - so glad you got one and with accesssories that will bring you joy. That postcard is very cool - what a lovely place she lives in. The plastic comment is VERY scary. I try to drink filtered water rather than water bottles but I know we could do so much better. We all need to. Happy T-day, happy Easter, and hugz

Your food and drink look tasty :)

I miss the days when appliances just needed to be plugged in to work lol I get my younger son to navigate the electronics, but I'd rather it were simpler.

Happy T Tuesday!
