WOYWW 324 - some far away mail

Good morning everyone! And a happy Wednesday to you!

It's time to share our desks again. (If you don't know what I'm on about, visit our chief desk hopper Julia at stamping ground.)

My desk is full of birthday cards that shouldn't be revealed just yet, but I'm banking on the fact that the recipients won't be reading this blog. Anyway, what is visible are the insides of four birthday cards I'm making. Three of our kids have birthdays in August. The twins in England and my son in Italy. Plus my cousin in Holland. I'll show you the cards properly next week.

In case you are wondering what the two cans of coconut milk are doing on my desk.... I use them as dumbels when I do my exercises.

I had lots of interesting mail this week from faraway places.

The lovely Patsy sent me this card from the Philipines. It has lots of yummy snacks on it. Patsy tells me she likes the halo-halo, the turon and the bibingka.

Then I got two more envelopes from the July envelope exchange:
This one was from a lady who lives on Vancouver Island by the ocean and often sees orcas swimming past. (She enclosed the card of the orcas).
This one came from the USA, but had nothing in it. It has beautiful calligraphy and special stamps. Very nice.

To finish here is a photo of my DH and I at the lake/reservoir where we camped last week. (More photos on yesterday's blog).

Yes, the lake was really that colour... a deep turquoise. Beautiful.

That's it from me for today. This week I will try to visit everybody. It might not all be today but I will spread it out over the week.

Have a good week and see you soon,
Lisca

Hi Lisca, If i was just a bit more organized I would love to send and receive postcards from all over the world! Such a wonderful hobby! And really it makes a nice change from emails! I used to be an industrious letter writer with carbon copies of my letters so i know what I told to each of my friends! THAT is a gorgeous lake!!! Happy WOYWW! patsy

Always enjoy your posts. the cards, stamps, envelopes are fun and I feel I lack in commenting as things have been so hurried. Things are getting back to normal here...grandkids start school next week, garden is almost done producing, so I can plan clothes for our trip to visit my son in D.C. in a few weeks. I am soooooooooo excited. 2 yrs since we've been able to visit in real life !
Always enjoy for the fun visits, have a lovely week

Your envelopes reminded me of dear Eliza who passed the other month, she used to send such beautifully decorated ones. Ah well, happy post when it comes through the letterbox like that.
Love the photo of you both and the lake is truly beautiful.

Well its to our advantage that you have a busy August in terms of birthdays! Am super impressed that you 'do' the insides of your cards, I have to confess to just writing a little larger to fill the space!! My eyes fell on the time straight away, how exotic..I've been using baked beans! Beautiful shots from the reservoir, nothing like some shade and some water to make you enjoy the sun!

:) I am grinning because, I think the only person on my card making list that looks at my blog is my mom and my friend at work so, everything I post is pretty safe too. Looks like you have been having fun. ~Stacy #52

Hi, Lisca, thanks for popping over to visit. I love all your projects that involve sending art through the postal mail. I enjoy technology, but I feel a bit sad that so many people never send postal mail anymore. What a great bargain it is, how cheaply we can send mail to such far-flung places. Hope you're having a wonderful week. ~ Laura
