A Postcard a Day 21 August 2015 linked with Friday Smiles

Good Morning!

It's Friday and I'm joining Annie at This Week's Smiles. Hopefully I can make you smile!

This first 'notice' I picked up this week is for all of you who can't resist a nice piece of material. Yes, I mean You!

(Libby WoodlandsQuilting For You)

But I normally show you a postcard... Here is one from my collection of  postcards designed by Inge Look. Even the 'naughty old ladies' are enjoying their holiday. One of them has her bum in a tub of water!
It was sent to me by Sakari in Finland. He lives in Turku, the oldest city in Finland. He told me he was a retired hospital chaplain.

He did put a special I Love Postcrossing stamp on  it! How cool is that!
In case you don't know what postcrossing is.... here is the link www.postcrossing.com.

If the above images have not made you smile then the next one will and I'll end on that note.
Have a good weekend everyone and remember: "Every cloud has a silver lining".

God bless,

Lisca

Love that list! It is pretty much the same as the one I recite to myself when standing in front of the watercolour stand at the art store, lol! (Also, any random cash found in a pocket really doesn't exist in a budgetary sense, or so I tell myself...) I just may, however, love the Finnish naughty ladies a bit more...

First Lisca I have to thank you. Periodic Table were the words I was looking for. Yet another senior moment. Anyway I have now edited my post, Thank You hehe.

Every week you make me smile. Your posts are always so interesting too. The chaplain is certainly a man with a great sense of humour. I was interested to read about the postcrossing. I did wonder how it worked.

I was amused by your "Ten reasons to buy fabric". I had so much fabric for cross stitching in various counts and colours that would probably have stocked a small shop. I had to let go last year and donated it to our craft club where lots of the women cross stitch. Stamps have now taken over ..... Have a lovely week. Barbxx

Hi Lisca, they are the best rules for fabric buying, we all need a copy. Two more lovely postcards and a lesson learned I'd say for that truck driver. Have a fabulous weekend Cheers Robyn

Thanks for your visit, Lisca, and I love your pics for today, and the ones on your previous posts too. That fabric one is particularly apposite because I've just bought a length of fabric for the first time for simply ages - but I am determined to make it up as soon as I'm well enough lol!! I've been feeling rough all week and esp. today after a bad night and I slept all p.m. today. Things will improve next week I am sure. Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad you liked what I made for Shaz.

Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #31

I have seen the lorry picture on Facebook and it always makes me smile. I think number nine on your list is too true! I love all the fabric that the quilters bring to our Wednesday sewing group, but I am not tempted to buy it. I collect paper like some people collect fabric. I just like to take it out and ´stroke it´now and then! Have a good week. Kate xx

Hi, me again. Thanks for popping by my blog. The printer is Spanish - from Amazon.es. Don´t give up of the photo shop. There are loads of excellent tutorials on line if you get stuck. I recommend the youtube videos because then you can see what buttons they press for a particular effect. Some of the newer digi kits won´t work with older versions of the software though. Kate x

Hi Lisca, sorry for being so late ... I was away for the weekend and returned to start packing everything away in my craft room ready for a makeover so time has been incredibly limited. So glad I found time to visit this evening because I really enjoyed your post. I now intend to live by the rules :) That last photo is a hoot! Elizabeth xx
