Hello deskhoppers!
It’s Wednesday again, which means we get
to snoop around each other’s desks to see what we are up to (or not). If you
have no idea what I’m on about, have a look at Julia’s website where she

This is my desk last night. As you can see it’s an almighty
mess. But a good mess as I’m actually making stuff. I’ve made a card for one of
the grandies’ first birthday.(left of the paper trimmer)
It was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest (using
buttons and Kraft paper).
I also made a ‘thank-you
card for my aerobics/gym teacher with a chocolate medal. The gym closes for the summer and all us
girls have put money in the hat as a thank-you for the teacher. It normally
just gets put in an envelope but I made a card. The Spanish don’t ‘do’ cards at
all so I hope they all think it’s a good idea. (I’ll let you know next week).
In the desk photo you can also see the little concertina books I’m
working on for the grandchildren. I’ve been painstakingly stamping Bible verses
on each page. I had to finish all that last night as I’m going to the post
office this morning to send the whole caboodle off to the UK.
This week I received ten postcards! (from Bulgaria, Slovenia, Finland x 2, Japan,
Germany x 2 , Hongkong, USA, Netherlands). I'm a member of Postcrossing (https://www.postcrossing.com/). So today I will send postcards to other fellow Postcrossers. One of the cards I’ll be
sending today is by artist Oxana Zaika. She paints cats in a special way. I buy
the cards from a Russian website, so when my Postcrossing recipient put down
Oxana Zaika as her favourite, I found one in my collection. I love them.

Wow, Lisca --- I'm early reading and responding. It's 7 p.m. here on Tuesday as I read your post. :) Love your cards. Nice postcard that you received, too. Those cards are adorable, not that the 1 year old will even notice, probably take a bite out of it.
Well Postcrossing has taken off for me in a big way LOL. I am so busy with it and a new venture involving Postcards that I am overwhelmed but thoroughly enjoying it. Your little card using buttons as balloons is absolutely adorable - I love that idea, and might 'borrow' it if you don't mind! The chocolate medal card is fab and I'm amazed that the Spanish don't do cards - I would miss them I'm sure.

So many fun things on your desk that you have been playing with. I see what you mean by you've been happy with all things kraft lately. Your two cards are both nice. The chocolate medal makes me smile. That cat postcard is really nifty. I'm sure the recipient will be very pleased to get it. Thanks for the visit recently. Your desk looks a little like mine...busy not messy.
As for dies for quilting, you cannot go wrong with half square triangles as you can do so much with them. if you go on Sizzix you can download some suggested patterns you can create using them. At least by die cutting them you know they will be accurate.

Welcome back Lisca - I've missed you! Great cards. I love that Russian cat! Brilliant! Thank you for your lovely comment and your kind words - I am now feeling quite a bit better, thank goodness. Only a week to go till my next treatment so it's about time! Round #2 flattened me... Glad you like my little abused angel - he has a big brother now (not quite complete) but so far not a wing to be seen! (Perhaps I should give them some Red Bull...) Been busy on the computer today so nothing creative done yet.
