Good morning bloghoppers! Happy WOYWW!
There’s nothing on my desk but my computer. I’ve been busy
doing other things, like harvesting olives and slaughtering pigs! Well not
literally, just watching and helping where I could. You can read about the pig
slaughter in my previous blog.
Actually last night I was in the kitchen preparing a
delicious chocolate dessert.
It’s called Tarta Tres Chocolates. It’s made with chocolate, milk and heavy cream. Yummy! It’s
useless giving you the recipe as it uses an ingredient called ‘cuajada’ (curd)
which apparently is difficult to find outside Spain. Certainly not in Europe.
This is what the finished product looks like.
We will be taking it to our friends where we have been
invited to celebrate Christmas eve with a big family dinner. People celebrate
Christmas eve here rather than Christmas day like in the UK. I will be able to
tell you all about it in a future blog.
I wish all of you that celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus
Christ a very blessed Christmas. And if your thing is winter solstice... then I wish you a very happy holiday !
Have a very special week,
Lisca

That is one beautiful cake! I think some food should remain 'of that country'. I make Jollof rice but it never tastes the same as when we eat it in Nigeria!!
Have a Blessed Christmas.

Hi Lisca, that cake looks so delish, it's making me hungry! Wishing you a blessed, peaceful Christmas with friends and family. (Now I'll go and read your post about the pig slaughtering! Not because I enjoy that sort of thing, but I'm just curious) zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #24
Oh my goodness! I wish you were bringing that dessert to my house! Have a blessed holiday :) Shel #33
Hi Lisca, A Happy Christmas to you and yours. That cake looks amazing. It does seem that much of Europe has their main celebration on Christmas Eve, rather than Christmas Day, I discovered that myself when we first started to get Eastern European workers join our company. I expect it would turn out to have something to do with Oliver Cromwell- he seemed to be the historical figure who meddled with stuff so much, lol.Happy Christmas Eve WOYWW, Love from us both, Shaz #11 xxxx
Liefs, Marit #26

I'm doing a quick spin round all my favourite blogs to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and to catch up with what you're up to at the last minute.
Your chocolate cake looks really yummy but I'm guessing this diabetic wouldn't be allowed to eat it lol.
Hugs,

Oh my Giddy Aunt!!!! That dessert looks worth a special visit to Spain!!! Yuuuuuum ain't the half of it!!!:):) hoping you're enjoying your Christmas Day right now & I know you celebrate Our Lord's birth - so May Christmas blessings be yours in abundance at such a happy/sad time that you will be no doubt having this year ....thinking of you :):)
Yes, Lizzy, do come over! I'll make you two!
Thanks for visiting, Christmas blessings to you too. I hope you are celebrating our Lord's birth surrounded by the love of your family. Hugs, Lisca#29
That tarta looks delicious! I also thoroughly enjoyed your previous post about your experience in the farm. The architectural shots and traditions remind me a lot of my grandmother, who had a ranch in the central part of Mexico. I can certainly appreciate where the roots of my heritage are. Hope you had a blessed Christmas!
Hi Lisca, That Tarta looks amazing! Is is something like fudge? Looks so rich! Have a blessed Christmas from way over here in Manila! patsy
That dish looks wonderful, Lisca. I hope you have had a good Christmas, after a difficult year. Hugs, Chris # 10
Wow Lisca, think I've gained several pounds just reading your post and looking at the pictures of that amazing cake! Thank you for your Christmas blessings, and for your lovely comment - glad you like my soaps (and their virtual Internet smell lol!) - done another post tonight with the completion of them. Unfortunately Christmas has been quite horrible for me this year except for my truly wonderful darling hubby who has done his best to make things special under difficult circumstances - I was not well yesterday and had no appetite for food or anything else, certainly not Mum's appalling behaviour which seems a lot worse since her recent TIA (talk about one's natural personality being intensified in old age...) My threshold for dealing with her is zilch. I am hoping for much better things next year as this year seems to have been a catalogue of woes and I'm about through with it lol! Thank goodness for my hubby and my art. Without them I don't know what I'd do.
Happy belated WOYWW,

Hi Lisca, thanks for the visit, everything went fine and of course we had sprouts, it's the Law!!! you have to have sprouts at Christmas heehee!
Love your Tarta, had a quick look on the internet and found the ‘cuajada’ but as yet not in this country though I am sure we have something similar with a different name, believe it was originally made from ewes milk. For now I shall just have to imagine how scrummy it is. Big Christmas hugs, Angela x
I'd be quite happy to send you 3 sachets in the post. They will go in an envelope. Send me your address.
