Raspberries and Christmas decorations (Warning: photo heavy)
Hello desk hoppers! I hope you’ve all had a good week. Mine
was good because it has flown by. I know we all complain that Wednesday comes
round so quickly. It certainly did this week.
Here’s a photo of my desk on last night (Tuesday evening).
I
had just finished making some Christmas decorations with the DoCrafts X-cut
large die.
You cut out 12 pieces and then ‘hook’ them together. It took me all
evening to make these two. But it was fun.
There are two red rosettes which I made this weekend for my
scrapbook lay out, and you can also see a Christmas card leaning against my
little bin. (also made with die-cuts)
You can see some cards on the shelf. On the left a pink girly card I made with a stamp I bought not so long ago. Next to that a Christmas card made with a magazine freebie from years ago.
Then there's a postcard from Russia (www.postcrossing.com) and on top of the Bible, a Happy Anniversary card as it was our 22nd wedding anniversary on Saturday.
The postcard from Russia was this cute little art work by Anna Silvonchik.
On the house front... we had a chappy come round spraying polyurethane
foam on all the roofs and ceilings and some walls. It’s insulation. At our
request he sprayed our water bottle, so that in summer water will keep cool.
Ah, the raspberries.... I found them in my little court
yard. It’s unusual to have fruit at this time of year. It’s getting cold and
the days are short. But we have more than 300 days sun a year, so that’s
probably why.
That’s it from me this week. I’ll try to visit everyone in
the course of the week, but I like to take my time and read blogs, look at
photos and click on links.
Have a good week. God bless.
Lisca
PS: Here are two more Christmas cards I made (with the same freebie papers):

You have been so busy!! I am wondering how you get your water in to the bottle to cool... Helen 6
Happy anniversary, Lisca! Glad to see the house is progressing so well. Your Christmas projects are lovely - especially the decorations (love 'em!) I do love that 'joy to the world' sentiment, too. Have a fab week, Chris # 8
I'm having a quick catch up while the munchkins play with the Lego.
You really have had a busy week. I love your slot together decorations....how clever.
Hugs,

Hi Lisca, what fabulous ornaments you've made - yes lots of time spent on them I bet. Nice Christmas cards too and lovely postcard. Love reading about the house progress too. Cheers and enjoy your week RobynO#34
what an interesting post!! Love the fabulous ornaments!!! Thanks for sharing,
Happy WOYWW Ginny #43
Wow, those ornaments are amazing - they looks quite complicated and fiddly to make but well worth it in the end! I love your two cards also, the gingerbread one is so sweet. Hope you have a great week,
Diana #50
Love your Xmas decorations and cards! The card from Russia is divine - it has a very art-journally feel! The water bottle looks so freaky, LOL, I thought it was a bees nest or something. Happy WOYWW from zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #41
Good spot! The photo was taken immediately after it was sprayed. DH then cut a slit around the cap with his sharp Swiss Army knife, and then you can unscrew the top and fill the bottle with cold water and it will stay cold.
Lisca
Love those ornaments, such a fun die to use and your cards are lovely, who doesn't love a gingerbread man? Your cave is coming along nicely too... it should be lovely and cool in the summer and cosy in the winter... Happy WOYWW to you, Annette #26
Those ornaments are fab, I love them, especially the silvery one. Clever you! And the cards are lovely too, you've done a wide range of designs :-)
And the insulated water bottle made me laugh!! It looks so blobby but hey, if it works.....
Hugs, LLJ 25 xx
What a fun post Lisca, bursting with ideas! My absolute favourite is the card with the gingerbread men, so sweet. It looks so lovely and bright at your workdesk - do you have daylight bulbs in there? Strange things are happening with fruit this year - we've had strawberries (proper ripe, red, sweet ones) popping up on our plants through october and into november, very weird ... Happy WOYWW Annie C #67
Happy Anniversary from me also. :) Your raspberries remind me of the red rose that my BFF just found standing tall in the snow in her backyard -- a rose in late November: amazing. Your ornaments are lovely. The gingerbread card is my fave, but they are all so bright and cheery. You must be very excited about the progress on your house.
Happy WOYWW. Nann #49
Wonderful cards and love those ornaments. Have a great week.

Love the decorations - they certainly look worth all the effort to make them. And your Christmas cards are lovely too - those magazine freebie packs are very useful.
Hope you had a lovely anniversary and have a productive week

Hi great cards and decorations - I especially like the silver one. Happy Anniversary. Thanks for visiting me. Anne x #32
I can't get over those decorations, they are so beautiful. All of your cards are wonderful, so creative. I'm learning how to put cards together by looking at all your wonderful blogs. That water bottle is so funny and I bet it will work a treat.
Have a great week,

Hi Lisca, thanks for visiting and Happy WOYWW. I am feeling a lot better but not 100% yet, I did some cleaning and it wiped me out today.
You do have a lot of photos today, and such lovely things, I like your ornaments, and that postcard is so sweet. How will you get the water out of that bottle?
We have some wild strawberries on the plant in the garden, or we did - we have had a few frosts now so they might not have survived.

Congratulations on your anniversary, Lisca. What a gorgeous lot of stuff on your desk this week! Love the folded clipped together thingies - really cool! Also the beautiful Russian postcard. So much to look at this week.
Thanks for your lovely comment. This evening after getting back from my soap class I did some planning for the final 2 signatures of the album. It's going to be mostly photos and I've more or less decided what's going where, so it shouldn't take too long now. It's the backgrounds and borders that take the time! I am fairly confident that I can complete it on time.
Happy WOYWW,

Yum! Love raspberries! They won't grow in Florida too hot most of the year for them. Cool Christmas ornaments! Really like the silvery one. Thanks for the earlier visit! Hugs and Happy WOYWW! Nan G #53
You've been busy, my friend! I love the two 3-dimensional ornaments you made, and that gingerbread Christmas card is precious. Happy WOYWW and Blessings!
Happy WOYWW and Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for dropping by! Lots to see on your desk today! I specially like those ornaments that you put together and the cards. Belated happy anniversary! What a blessing to have 22 years together. May you have many more happy years together.
Hugs,
peggy aplSEEDS@13
Gosh those ornaments look fab! Worht the work, huh! I would love to be the sprayer, but I know from experience that it's not as easy as they make it look! I can see the courtyard style of your home from that picture...I think! Nice susnhine still, if not hot and for many hours, it's still lovely. Well done on the cards - using up old papers too - they're really pretty.
Oh man I love that star! Fab. I must look out for that die. Love the cards too, and glad you liked the knockers :)
Late again - darn that Blogger!
Happy happy WOYWW!

What fab decorations and cards.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Hi Lisca! Great post this week - I had to smile about the water bottle! Those decorations look a little fiddly - I have been making some from a K & Co pad I bought years ago, must take some photos. There is glitter everywhere now though (even in my bed I noticed this morning). I have added the links etc requested to my WOYWW blog post, seemed easier than keep copying and pasting. Have a good week! Cindy x #49
The decorations are great ! They look very intricate ! Loved looking at you cards this week ! Thanks for visiting Ali #22
I love raspberries - anything flavoured with them too. And I love your Christmas decorations - fabulous - what did you make the first one from - it looks very special to me.
Lots of great pictures, love the card against the bin - great idea with the water bottle.
Thanks for sharing and thanks for visiting me - Hugs, Neet (late again) xx
Forgot to say I adore the Russian card.
Hugs, Neet xx
That decoration was made from A4 card called Mirricard. It comes in gold or silver. Shiny things don't photograph very well, but it looks like silver. Very nice and the thin die does cut it if I pass it through twice.
Hi Lisca,
Your Christmas decorations made from the dies are great - although I must confess I don't think I'd have the patience for them. Isn't it funny what different people will take time to do? Your cards are great and the Russian card is beautiful - happy belated anniversary.
I wondered about spraying the bottle, then I saw the photo! tee hee. Where exactly do you live?
I plan to use the mistle toes lable on nail polish for my niece and some other young girls. Socks is definitely a great idea!!
I've had my Thanksgiving meal so it was a perfect time to visit desks - either that or take a nap!!
Thank you for visiting me already! Happy belated WOYWW
Hugs,

Thanks for the visit and your nice comments. I am late due to my Thanksgiving trip. I love your decorations and that rosette is great. Cx #19
Lovely spot to work! So many wonderful art projects you've created!
Hi Lisca, the house looks as though it is coming on really well now.
You are going to be even more busy when it's finished, I am so excited for you.
Thanks for the visit to mine, I have sent you an email.
Lots of lovely projects too.
Happy crafting, Angela x
Your Christmas cards are adorable. You have so many nice projects! I am glad you are keeping us up on the house progress. And what a great idea for keeping your water cool! ;) Will it really work? Thank you so much for your visit and comment. I appreciate you asking how am I doing on memorization. I memorized one verse right away, and sad to say then went down hill from there. Thanks for asking. Not even my non virtual friends have asked! So, now with new enthusiasm, will begin once more! Oh, and I hope you will join the Walking 4 Fun. I picked the longest trail PCT, and kind of wished I had picked a shorter one. I won't be done for 2 years!!!! It was nice here for one day and I walked, but still difficult to do the 5 miles a day that I have been striving for. Your village sounds nice for walking. Loved hearing from you! #57
Goodness you've had a busy week.... Where to start.... Congratulation probably on 25 years ... Quite an achievement. I have those big die cut decorations .... I cut out 12 last year and took them to a works christmas meal but didn't tell them what they were or how to put them together .... I was very amusing. Lovely cards too I gave a thing for gingerbread men😀
Janet @20
Ah Lisca a great post and lots going on some great creativity .. your house is really interesting and love the raspberries (?) most of all :D happy WOYWW Shaz in oz.x #12
All your cards are darling, and those paper ornaments are wonderful! I love the metallic papers your chose for them.
Sorry I'm late with my visits this week. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier and for the nice comments.
Happy Belated Woyww,
Sandy #33
Yes, the foam spray on the bottle works. Many workmen have them and I have seen them for sale in the tool shop (and at the time wondered what they were.... now I know!)
Lisca thank you so much for sharing your desk and your home it's such a pleasure to see the house coming alive slowly. I also wanted to apologise for not visiting you last week. The little squares on the black board are inchies - they are 1 inch square pieces of art work that I have traded with other artists. Anita #46
I know I'm late... sorry, I do tend to be a bit of a tortoise! I love those 3 dimensional decorations, as well as your cards. The water bottle is funny... the raspberries look luscious! Look forward to visiting next week...

Thank you for your lovely comment, Lisca - so glad you enjoyed my tigers page, and my happy memory of the event. My dad was an eye surgeon. I have no idea what happened to the tigers, but I presume after their recovery they were back with the circus.
Been busy with several pages since that one - hop over and have a look! You will see what a multi-talented man my dad was.
Shoshi
Thank you for another lovely comment, Lisca - and for your kind words about both my album and my dad. It was the first anniversary of his death on Saturday, and it seems fitting that I fininshed the album on that day. I shall be uploading a blog post soon about it.
Have a great week.
Shoshi
