It looks quite different now. Times change. Some European countries do an amazing job of preserving history. I admire that; but is costs a pretty penny that other countries can't afford.

Re the US Post Office Murals Forever Stamps: "In the 1930s and 1940s, murals brought a touch of beauty to Post Office locations across the United States. In 2019, the U.S. Postal Service celebrates these works of art, which were designed to help boost the morale of Americans during the Great Depression."

I guess that's another way to honor a country's history.

The tree and you are very impressive lit up like that ;-) And your cards are wonderful. I love how you mixed the old images with corrugated cardboard (and used some of your postcard stash).

Feliz Navidad and Happy T-day! Both my internet AND my phone were down. I walked to my foodie friend Sally’s to use her phone to call the phone company and Sharon who graciously left the message you saw at T time.

I complained to the phone company that my internet often goes down on Mondays. I bet Sharon is getting tired of hearing from me on Monday afternoons. I asked the repair person what the problem was and he said “a line down the block had broken,” and after he repaired it, he came here and reset my phone AND internet lines. This was the greatest early Christmas gift I could have received. Yes, I’m doing a happy dance.

I can’t possibly catch up with you at the moment, but I am simply grateful that you chose to visit and spend T time with me today. Thank you for that.

LOVE those Christmas cards. I also KNOW how long it takes to scrape cardboard. Thanks for sharing your drink and postcards, too for T this Tuesday, dear.Bleubeard and Elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10149710375520733752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6549829449802315358.post-36076097073337263162019-12-10T21:54:46.015+01:002019-12-10T21:54:46.015+01:00Great postcards and photos Lisca. That Christmas tree is a little too modern for my taste, but it still looks lovely, as most / all Christmas decorations do. Some of them none too clean, either. Fun postcards. That last stamp is the USPS Post Office Mural Stamps. Back in the 1930s and 40s. some post offices had art/murals in the lobby. These stamps are an homage to that time and some of the post office that had unique murals.

Mmm, I can smell the bread baking and the cookies! Your bakery reminds me of the bakery I used to go to as a little girl to buy bread for my grandma when I visited. The town tree and your lovely Christmas cards are putting me in the Christmas spirit.
